A clerk at the Circle K at 1001 E. Highway 80 reported that a man
took 1 1 sleeping pills in the store's bathroom Sunday. When ihe man
asked the clerk for some sleeping pills the clerk laid Sominex on the
counter. Throwing some money on the counter the man grabbed the
pills and locked himself in the bathroom According to the police
report the clerk called the police While the victim was in the bathroom.
The victim was not hospitalized.
A student at Mann Middle School at 2545 Mimosa Drive reported to
the assistant principal Monday that another student has been threaten-
ing her with bodily harm to obtain ier lunch money. According to the
polkc report this threat lias been going on for most of the school year.
An estimated $11160 in jewelry was reported stolen Sunday.
Unknown suspects pried open the bck door of the house on Briar-
wood according to the polke report.

Jewel Lafontant-Mankarlous the
first woman to serve as ambas-sador-at-large
and U.S. Coordinator
for Refugee affairs will be the
guest Friday on the KUF-TV7 talk

sador. Her appointment was con-
firmed by the Senate on June 15

Affairs Lafontant-Mankarious is

resettlement policy and for govern
ment-wicje coordination of U.S.
refugee programs.
LafottaRt-Mnkarious is known
nationally for her contributions to
civil and human rights and has
served as a U.S. rcprcsentall to

King Jr Federal Holiday Commis-
