Instructions will be given by
an expert canner as to the best
method of canning fruits, vege-
tables, meats and other products,
such as farmers and. the general
public may bring to the car while
at the station, the idea being to
impart practical, information on
this important subject. Samples
of canned goods furnished Mr.
Madison will be exhibited at
places where fee farm ear stops
with the view of encouraging the
sale of Texas products within the
State—thus keeping Texas mon-
ey at home. Farmers are also
asked to bring in specimens of
insect pests of all kinds, state
the particular damage that is be-
ing done and a state etymologist
will take pleasure in explaining
the most effective method of
destroying them.
Making soil mulches and how
to retain moisture, will be thor-
oughly explained. This will be
especially interesting and in-
structive as showing the applied
scientific methods for holding
the moisture in the soil. Sweet-
clover and other valuable grasses
will be exhibited and their value
for pasture, hay and feeding will
be fully explained.
By observing the schedule it
will be seen that farmers and
others interested at fee towns
visited will be given ample time
to inspect the “Farm Car” and
to profit by the lectures, ihe
