mI and Mrs. W. E. Tedford and
daughter, Grade, have returned- from
an overland trip to California in
which they covered 6,45< miles and
were absent forty days. They visited
Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacra-
mento, the Yosemite Valley, Marapo-
sa or Redwood forests, and returned
by way of the grand Canyon in Ariz-
ona. The trip was a most delight-
ful one in every, way, and especially
so as they experienced no car trouble
during the trip.

near Tivoli, Tex., - and expects to

Judge of San Patricio county, was
calin on Aransas Pass friends during

Harry A. Stephens has bought the
hull of the Reliance and will install
a high-powered engine. The Reliance
belonged to the state game, fish and
oyster department and was the boat
that Joe Williams and Deputy' Ray-
mond endeavored to reach during the
storm, the effort costing them their
lives. Mr. Stephens expects to fit it
up and then go on a voyage that will
take him to New Or lean; s, thence up
the Mississippi river to the great lakes
L. J. Spice left today for Chicago on
business. He expects to be absent a
few weeks.

Application for Building Permit.
Notice is hereby given that the Mag-
noila Petroleum Company has made
application to the Commissioners of
the* city of Aransas Pass for a permit
to erect on lots 31 and 32, Block 586 a
one- story building to be constructed
of lumber and iron, to be used for stor-
ing petroleum products in barrels and
packages, and two. 10 x 20 ft. steel
tanks to be used for bulk storage of
kerosene and commercial gasoline.
The Commissioners will be in session
on the 13th day of July at 2 p. m. at
the office of City. Clerk for the pur-
pose of considering the above applica-
tion, and anyone wishing to say any-
thing is invited to be present.
