ORDINANCE No. 44.
An Ordinance Amending Ordi-
nance No. 13.
Be It Ordained by the City
Commissioner of the City of'
Aransas Pass, Texas, that Ordi-
nance No. 13 he, and the same
is hereby amended so as to here-
after read as follows:
Section 1. That the territory
facing on Commercial street, ex-
tending back to the alley on each
■side of said street and between
Greenwood and Lot avenues, be
and the same is hereby designat-
ed as the fire limits of the City
of Aransas Pass.
Section 2. It shall be unlawful
for any person to erect or con-
struct any wooden or frame
building within the limits of the
above described fire district, and
no building shall be constructed
within the said limits other than
of brick, concrete or other fire
proof material.
Section 3. Any person desiring
to erect a building within the
said fire limits, shall, before be-
ginning the construction of the
same, make application in writ-
ing to the City Commission of
said city, stating the number of
the lot and block where said
building is proposed to be erect-
ed, and describing in detail the
character of the building and the
dimensions thereof, and shall
state the purpose for which the
same is to be used, and upon sat-
isfactory proof being made to
the commission that said build-
ing shall be constructed in com-
pliance with the provisions of
this ordinance, the city clerk
shall be directed to issue a build-
ing permit to such person, which
permit shall state the location of
said building, and the descrip-
tion thereof in the same manner
as does the application therefor,
and shall be authenticated by the
c A of said city, ■'for which the
City Clerk shall be entitled to a
fee of $1.00 to be paid by the
person receiving such permit.
Section 4. The material for
said building and the construc-
tion thereof shall at all times be
subject to the inspection of the
City Commission, and upon the
failure or refusal of the per-
son so erecting said building to
comply wvith this ordinance and
the permit so issued to him, the
said permit may at any time be-
fore the completion of the said
building be revoked by the said
Commission, and in that event
the said building may be con-
demned by the City Commission.
Section 5. It shall be unlaw-
ful for any person to repair or
make additions to any building
of wooden material that may
have been heretofore constructed
within the said limits without
first obtaining a permit as set
forth in Section 3 hereof, and
such repairs or additions shall
be subject to all the provisions
of this ordinance.
Section 6. This ordinance shall
be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and publi-
cation.

14th day of March, A. D., 1912.

Painfully Burned.
W. F. Carter, manager of the
Aransas Pass Independent Tele-
phone Exchange, was very pain-
fully burned Thursday night by
a wood alcohdl lamp. His face
was badly burned and thajfc his
eyes were not injured is a mira-
cle. Dr. Blankmeyer attended
Mr. Carter’s injuries and he is
doing as well as could be ex-
pected.
