The Student Foundation has once again
decided on the people who best represent
Hardin-Simmons for the month of Decem-
ber. This month the outstanding student is
Jennifer Evans. She is a sophomore from
Childress Texas majoring in elementary
education with a specialization in reading.
Evans is a member of Epsikm Pi Alpha and
has helped with the Noah Project a com-
munity organization which assists battered
women. She is also an active member of
Pioneer Drive Baptist Church.
Evans love for children goes beyond
that of an ideology. She works for the
Abikne school district at an after-school
daycare for elementary children.
She has also been involved in Fall
Orientation as a student leader and shows
her school spirit by trying to go to all the
football games.
Evans has a very encouraging spirit and
gives all of her friends nicknames. She says
"It makes them more special"
Jennifer your school spirit and encour-
agement are much appreciated on this cam-
pm and we congratuble you on your recog-
nition. The oustanding facultystaff member of
the month is Sandra Marshall. Many of us
do not know the impact Sandra has on the
campus but we see her work everyday. She
is the school's horticulturist and she is
responsible for the flora that adorns our
campus.
Marshall graduated magna cum laude
from Tarkton State University and has been
working for the school for over a year. She
is currently taking classes in her spare time
for a master's degree in environmental man-
agement. She fa a member of Ovalo Baptist
Church where she is involved in everything
from teaching Sunday School and Vacation
Bible School to putting together the church
newsletter.
The beauty of Marshall's devotion to
the Lord is only rivaled by the beauty of the
work she does here at HSU.
Sandra your diligence and insight into
the beautification of our campus has gone
unrecognized for too long. So we award
you this honor and hope you will continue
the good work.
Well that is it for the awards for this
semester. Student Foundation would like to
thank the bookstore for its contribution of
the awards.
Keep up that school spirit and dedica-
tion to good ol' HSU and you might see
your name in print (other than on a WANT-
ED poster at the post office) next semester.
