Mrs. J. C. Tynes has returned
from San Angelo where she at-
tended funeral service for her
sister, Mrs. W. D. Biggs, 87, who

20. She was the widow of Dr.
W D. Biggs, who died several

medical practice in Delta
County. Mrs. Biggs, an invalid
for the past several years, was
the oldest of nine children born
to her parents.

T.E.L. Class Has
Monthly Meeting
The T.E.L. Class of the First
Baptist Church had their reg-
ular monthly social Tuesday,
April 3, it the home of Mrs. L.
L Allard with Mrs. Bucla
Rainey, co-hostess.
Mrs. Colman Smith, president,
presided at the short business
session. The roll was called by
Mrs. Cassie Bledsoe followed by
the minutes of the previous
meeting by the secretary, Mrs.
W. E. Chancellor.
The class voted to give Mrs.
Calvin Balentine, who has
moved to Dallas, a going-away
gift as a token of love.
The devotional was given by
Mrs. Wallace Robinson who
used Acts, chapter 11, as her
scripture reading.
After several games were
played, the hostesses served a
salad plate to 13 members.
Paul Bailey of Ft. Worth was
in Cooper two days last week
visiting out friends. Son of the
late Adam Bailey, who died
suddenly in 1946, he was rear-
ed in Cooper and attended
school here. His mother, now 80
years old, resides in Ft. Worth.

they visited Mrs. Mobley’s
