The First Shipment of Cotton Made
Twenty Days Earlier Than
Last Year
The first shipment of cotton to
foreign ports was made from here
on the first day of September. The
shipment consisted of fifty bales,
which were shipped to Galveston
by Levine Bros.
The first shipment out of Bon-
ham last year was made ou the
21st day of September, just twenty
days later than this year.
Another thing about the cotton
this season, aside from the fact
that Bonham in paying the highest
price paid anywhere, is that the
number of bales received at the
compress up to last night, were
about four times in excess of what
they were at this date last year.
The number up to last night had
reached $00 bales.

class of sewing that can be done on any other at any
price?

Bonham won the last and decid-

pitched a fine game. Wichita
Falls is a hard place to win a ball

six trials, which is going some.

Albritton, cotton selling agent for
the Texas Farmers’ Union and the
Oklahoma Farmers’ Union today
declared that the Union had fixed
a secret price on cotton seed and if
this minimum price is not paid
here all seed will be shipped out of
the State for sale. Albritton de-
clines to say what the minimum is,
but said he considers 920 per ton a
fair price.
Last year farmers sold seed for
910 and 915 per ton.
The Union also refuses to divulge
where seed will be shipped, al-
though admitting that all will be
sent to a certain outside city.
Albritton declared: “It’s a fight
with the oil trust to a finish aud
the farmers are bound to win.”
