American Wdmen’s Voluntary Services TOWER THEATRE BUILDING 1 2 PI WESTHEIMER HOUSTON 6, TEXAS NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS NEW YORK CITY November P.6, 1943 TELEPHONE HADLEY B244 Mrs. W. D. Kempner, Chairman American Women’s Voluntary Services United States National Bank Building Galveston, Texas My dear Mrs. Kempner: This morning in the mail I received reservations for three for the Round Table. That is all so far from the outside. Last night we gave a dinner at the Guest.House for the Admiral and the officers of his staff in Houston. In the foreground, it was a brilliant affair. In the background, struggling women in a kitchen and pantry not quite set up to carry same. We sang "Parise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition" in our hearts when it was ended, but there was a successful affair, and a credit to the A. W. V. S. name. Yours in service, Mrs./James G. Davis D:P
