the Clarksville lodge to attend a
benefit show March 23.
The lodge will observe the
birthday of Schuyler Colfax, the
founder of the Rebekah Degree,
March 20.
A brief biography of St. Pat-
rick was read by Ita Price. “The
Shamrock' was given by Inez Bet-
tis and The Blarney Stone”, by
Torotha Coston.
The refreshment table was laid
with a white cloth and green

riage of their daughter, Linda
Rose, to Sgt. Stanley J. Jonas,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley A.
Jonas, who reside near Schuvler.
The couple was married Wed-
nesday, Feb. 28, at First Chris-
tian Church in Oceanside, Calif.
The Rev. George F. Timsley per-
formed the ceremony.
Attendants were Sgt. and Mrs.
Dennis E. Wacha.
Sgt. Jonas received his dis-
charge from the Marine Corps on
Thursday, March 2, after serving
the past three years. He has been
stationed the past year at Marin*
Corps Air Station at El Toro,
Santa Anna, Calif.
Mr. and Mrs. Jonas arrived in
Schuyler Monday and they ar*
visiting with his parents. They
plan to reside on a farm near
Schuyler.

In Army Reserve
A quota of 100 spaces for ap-
pointment in the United States
Army Reserve in grades of lieut-
enant through captain, has been
allotted to the Fourth Army area,
it has been anounced by Briga-
dier General Lewis S. Griffing,
Chief of the Texas Military Dis-
trict, Austin, Texas.
Appointments to fill this quota |
will be for assignment to a U-
nited States Army Reserve control
group. In this status appointees
will not be assigned to a specific j
unit, but will be a reinforcement
pool.
To qualify, a person must be a
college graduate or possess the
equivalent of a college degree.
In some eases prior service per-
sonnel may have these require-
ments waived.
These appointments are open
only to qualified individuals who,
due to geographich location or
through lack of Army Reserve
unit vacancy cannot obtain
commission.
