located on Survey N.o. 174 of
Duval County 7 miles east of
Hebbronville, in the O’Hern &
Scacord Pool, at a depth of 2,720
feet on Sunday afternoon en-
countered a rich sand. A string
of a 7-8 inch casing of ihe Cali-
fornia type is beiing s ! md ce-
mented and the v id be bail-
ed in about a week. This well
gives every indication of being
the greatest gasscr every hrouht
in in that big gas field, and the
sand is so rich that John O’Hern,
who is on hand to watch every
devlopment, believes the well
will prove a sensation.

week.
The associated Oil Co. .is erect-

vey No. 174 of Duval county, in
the O’Hern & Seacord Pool and.
indications are they are prepar-
ing to make a deep test of their
No. 1 on heir lease in that area.
Considerable interest attaches
to operations in the O’llern &
Seacord Pool at this time and a
number of the major concerns
having leases in that * ortion of
Duval county are pre- a ring for
active operations wit’-’u a very
short time. The b"'* ers
brought in by 0’IIerT» & Seae >rd,
the discoverers of the pool has
attracted much attention to that
area.—Laredo Times Feb. 28.

CURING FLAT FEET.
As a remedy for flat feet, Uni-
versity of Texas boy’s are advised
to play’ marbles, but marbles up-
to-date. According to University
rules, the flat feet victim places
the marble between the first t<>e
and its neighbor and walks a
distance of 100 yards wi'h the
marble grasped in that manner.
The process develops the neces-
sary muscles and strenthens the
fallen arches, it is explained.—
