many faces' wo do not seo now aro
out of circulation.
Tho first summer wedding to tako
place among Simmons students or
"Exes" was that of "Undo Joo"
Smith and Sarah Rebecca Brown.
They wero married Juno 0 at tho
homo of tho brido in Winters.
Juno 16 Miss Mary Cooper 'former
student and daughter of Dr. 0. II.
Cooper and Mr. Dan Gallagher were
married nt tho brido's homo. They
sailed for Havana on their honey-
moon. Two other'simmons "Exes" Mary
Parrack and W. L. Chancy wero
married in tho homo of tho brido's
parents at Chillicothc June 12 with
tho brido's father Rev. Parrack of-
ficiating. Mr. J. T. Hanoy secretary-treasurer
of tho University and Miss
Beatrice Guimarin wero married in
Olncy July 1. Tho wedding was
solemnized at 7 o'clock in tho First
Baptist Church.
Miss Lota Clyde Head of Ovalo
' and Mr. Roland Leo llouso of San
Antonio wero married in the homo
of tho bride's parents Dr. and Mrs.
A. P. Head Juno 29. Both aro
graduates of Simmons.
Ralph Grant and Miss Ima- Geno
Mcrrcck of Lamesa wero married at
Lamcsa July 7. Grant is pastor of
tho Anson Baptist Church. Miss
Mcrrcck is a former student of Bay-
lor College at Bclton.

brido's brother In Port Arthur July 2.

ing tho past year Simmons representa-
tives won first honors in tho contests
of the Southwestern Plnno Tourna-
ment tho Texas Intercollegiate Press
Association and tho "Women's Ora
torical Association of Toxas. Tho
Cowboy baskkctball team won tho
Texas conference title for tho third
consecutive time.
Tho famous Cowboy Band which
toured Europo in tho summer of 1030
is planning another trans-oceanic
tour in 1032 in which they will
again give concerts beforo tho audi-
ences of Europe. In tho past six
years tho band has traveled 250000
miles in moro than twetny states of
tho union in Mexico in England nnd
on the continent.
Other orgnizatlons which offer tho
student a chanco for development in
his own chosen field aro tho choral
club tho science club tho history
club tho classical club tho Cowgirls
famous pop organization tho Univer-
sity Players tho music club tho
musical composition club and tho
engineers club.

tho B. S. U. is going to attempt to
attain tho First Magnitude during
tho fall quarter. To attain this award
a certain per cent of tho student
body must bo in regular attendanco
nt ono of tho churches in both Sun-
day School and B. Y P. U. Also
other factors go to determine tho rat-
ing of tho B. S. U. for this award.
Tho Simmons Union has attained this
Magnitudo at least some time in tho
School year since tho inauguration
of tho award.
Tho following is the aim of tho
B. S. U.:

a Sundav School class.
3. Every Baptist Student an A-l
member of an A-l B. Y P. U.

Fred Swank Is president of tho or
ganlzation for the coming year. "We
extend a hearty greeting to every
student in Simmons to meet with us
and cooperate with us so that we all
may work toward a common end of
getting every person affiliated with
somo local church" said Mr. Swank.
