SAMUEL P. COLT

Help the Railroads
Help the Merchants
—by using your car, passenger or commercial, more
more to help relieve the pressure on the nation’s railroads,
—for the railroads are strained to the limit today to move
man and merchandise.
The one way to keep your automobile ready for your
service day and night is to be sure that you have depend-1
able tires.
United States ‘Usco’ Tread is not only the dependable,
efficient, always-ready tire, .
it is the tire of long mileage—of low mileage cost,
—the tire of masterful anti-skid service.
Put United States ‘Usco’ Treads on your car—make
comparisons.

LADY MARRIES IN CHICAGO
[ Miss Lucile Jane Hargis and Ser-
geant Frederic Walter Eppling of the
'130th Engineers Co. F. Camp Custer,
Battle Creek, Michigan, were married
Thanksgiving morning in the city of
Chicago. The dobule ring ceremony
and Episcopal service was used.
Mr. John Quincy Lawrence Hargis
of Fort Smith, Ark., brother, gave
the bride away. The bride was be-
comingly gowned in a navy blue suit
| white boots, gloves and small white
hat. Her corsage bouquet was lillies
of the valley and forget-me-nots.
Only very intimate friends witnessed
the ceremony.
The bride who was well known in
Cooper, was the grand daughter of
Mrs Ellen Robertson and has visited
here many times. Since leaving
Cooper she graduated from the Fort
Smith High school, also of Stout In-
stitute. After finishing school she
was supervisor of Home Economics
two years at Birmingham, Ala., af-
terwards going to Stambaugh, Michi-
gan.
Before going into service Sergeant
Eppling was efficiency man at the
Kohler Enameling factory of Kohler,
Wife. After the holidays Sergeant
Eppling will return to Camp Custer.
His division expects to be sent to
France in January or February. Mrs.
Eppling will return to I Stambaugh to
resume her duties

CALOMEL SHIES

Acta like dynamite on a sluggish
liver and you lose a
day’s work.
There's no reason why a person should
take sickening, salivating calomel when
a few cents buys a large bottle of Dod-
son’s Liver Tone—a perfect substitute
for calomel.
It is a pleasant, vegetable liquid which
will start your liver just as surely as
calomel, but it doesn’t make you Bick
and can not salivate.
Children and grown folks can take
Dodson’s Liver Tone, because it is per-
fectly harmless. -----**»«**>'
