The executive committee of the
University Interscholastic League of
Delta county held its first meeting in
the office of County Supt. W. 'B.
Wheeler Saturday, Dec. 14 at 3 p. m.
The following report is submitted to:
the schools of Delta county that arej
members of said league:
1. The basket ball season will open'
Sat., Feb. 10. Games played before
then cannot be counted toward cham-
pionship. Each team must play at
least four other teams to enter the
championship race.
2. The baseball season will open
Saturday, March 17. Each team must
play at least six games to enter cham-
pionship race.
3. The county athletic meet will
be held Saturday, March 31, at Cooper.
4. Debating and declamation con-
tests will be held Friday night, Mch.
16, at Cooper.
5. The spelling contests will be
held Friday night, March 23, at Coop-
er.
6. In junior spelling use list sent
out by University then use adopted |
speller, begin 3rd grade words. In j
senior spelling use lists sent out by;
University then use adopted speller,
begin 5th grade words. Then “Old
Blue Back.”
7. Spalding’s official guides are
adopted in basket ball (boys and
girls) and baseball.
8. Athletic rules of the Interschol-1
astic League will be official in all
contests. I
9. A report of every contest held;
must be sent to the director general
within three days after the contest by
the official of said contest.
> 10. Regulation playing field and
goals must be provided by schools
whose teams enter the county cham-
pionship race in basket ball.
11. A basket ball schedule will be
made out Jan 13. Schools wishing to
enter said contest must report the
same to director general before above
date. EX. COMMITTEE.
The following schools are members
of Delta county Interscholastic
League:
Giles, Ben Franklin High School,
Antioch, Cooper High, Perkins, Milam,
Lake Creek, Rattan, Underwood,
Union, Ward, Mt. Joy, Klondike High,
Cleveland. Vasco, Eureka, Pecan Gap
High school.
