This morning at 10 o'clock the
32»d annual convention of the
Fannin County Interdenomina-
tional Sunday School Association
convened at the First Baptist
church in this city, with President
George A. Dailey, of Honey Grove,
presiding.
The convention was opened with
a song, “Stand lTp for Jesus,,}
which was followed; by prayer by
Rev. H. L. Walker* pastor of the
American I’veabyVei ian church of
this city, which was followed by a
song, “Ouward, Christian Sold-
lei’s.'’ The address of welcome
was then delivered by Rev. J. F.
Hughes, pastor of the First Bap-
tist church of this city. The ad
dress was an exceptionally good
one and was highly enjoyed by the
entire association. The address
was responded to in a very happy
way by Mr. Jnines Shiets, of Leon
ard, which was well received,
j This was followed by the regular
order of business, as per printed
program, as follows:
President Dailey submitted his
annual report, which was referred
to the committee on resolutions,
which committee had not returned
a report at press time this after
entertained the Association in ft
highly pleasing manner. Mr, Wig-
gins is one of the foremost Sunday
school workers of the South, aud
his know ledge of the work is worth
a great deal to the association, and
the association considers it a high
compliment to have him present.
Dr. L. C. Page, of Honey Grave,
was present and delivered an ad-
dress on “Why I Go to Sunday
School.” His remarks were short
and to the poiut ami contained
much strong argument as to why
every man, woman and child
should attend Sunday school aud
the benefits they would derive
from so doing.
