Kermit State Bank beat Han-
dlin-Moore Tuesday night in a
Pony League battle at County
Park, 5-2. In the second game,
Spruill’s outscored the Stars and
won, 9-6.
The Bankers tallied single
runs in the fourth, fifth and
seventh innings and collected
two runs in the sixth for their
scores. Handlin-Moore had a
run in the second frame and
a run in the sixth.
Jerry Jones was winning
pitcher for Spruill’s while Ron-
nie Burrows was the loser
Jones got an assist from Luis
Hernandez in the seventh in-
ning.
Spruill’s brought in two runs
during the third inning, broke
loose for five in the fourth and
added one each in the fifth and
seventh. The Stars’ scoring
came in the third inning and
the seventh. They tallied four
times in the third frame and
twice more in the last inning
in a losing cause. .
Seeing action for the Stars
were Eddie Hazel, Carroll Sam-
uels, Ricky Rose, J. Samuels,
Corky Rivera, Billy Thompson,
Floyd DePaw, Mike Beauchamp
and Burrows.
Spruill’s team members get-
ting in the game were Lanny
Baker, Hernandez, Joe Scott,
Jones, Mike Giesler, Chester
Nolen, David Fielding, David
Lancaster, Jerry Fearn, Bruce
Callich and Randy Reed.
Those playing for Handlin-
Moore included Don McGill,
D. V. Edwards, Buddy Myers,
Jim Reynolds, Tommy Shilling-
burg, Zane Nutt, Jerry Ed-
wards, Mike Sharp and Mike
Preston.

Country Club
Tourney Slated
This Week End
Play in the annual Winkler
County Country Club Invitation-
al Golf Tournament will begin
Saturday morning and conclude
Sunday afternoon. The tourney
will be played on the club’s
course west of the city.
Entry fee for the affair is
$12.50 per player and entries
can be called in to Gidd Fair-
cloth, club- pro, until 6 p.m.,
Friday. The opening day, Fri-
day, will see a long-driving con-
test at 6 p.m.; a barbecue for
all participants at 7:30 p.m.,
and a putting contest at 8:30.
A dance will follow the first
day of tournament play. This
will be held in the clubhouse at
9 p.m., Saturday. Tourney finals
are scheduled Sunday and
prizes will be awarded the same
day.
Floyd Morris, tourney chair-
man, said a large field is ex-
pected to participate in the
tournament.
HONEST WOMAN GETS CASH
FOUND IN PARKING LOT
PARAMUS, N. J. — Honesty

nor Brady found $5,000 in cash
in a parking lot in Paramus and
turned the money over to police.
