We are having some unusally
warm, damp windy weather for
the time of year. A good rain

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jones of
the Fairview neighborhood vis-
ited Mr. and Mrs. Jay Wooten;
Saturday night.
Mrs. Fannie Robison and
Grandma Porter have returned
home from Durant.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jones and
Mrs. Robisoa spent Tnanks-i

R. Walling and Mr. Edwards
are spending these beautiful
moon shiny nights hunting pos-
sums, jack rabbits and gather-
ing pecans.
Dave Robison is erecting a
new barn on the place he pur-
chased of Lonnie Porter.
Aunt Emiline Jordan is very
feeble at present.
James Burns the old residenter
was in Pilot Point Saturday
peddling out a load of swine.
Miss Velma Sanders’ health is
improving.
Mr. J, D. Bushong and Amos
Sanders killed some fine large
hogs last Monday.
Most of us spent thanksgiving
day in the cotton patch.
The writer was in Gainesville
Tuesday, the 23. The wheat on
the prairie is sure fine and the
people all seem to be in a pros-
perous condition financially from
the way they are improving.
They are overhauling their old
houses and building new qnes.
You could see loads of lumber
stacked at every house on the
road. It set ms that old Cooke
county is coming to the front.
Grandma Clement and Norah
Wslling visited Mrs. Gooch Sat-
urday afternoon.
Mr. Boggs of Oakdale passed
through in company with his
family Thursday at a gate of 60
an hour. Dock was either hunt-
ing the north pole or a nice bak-
ed turkey. A turkey I rather
suppose.
Mrs. Lonnie Porter ar.d chil-
dren and Grandma Porter visit-
ed Mrs. Gooch Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs Alex Wooten and
son visited J. W. Porter Sun-
day.
Rev. White Porter of Bowie
came in Sunday. He was form-
erly a Cooke county man but is
now a citizen of Bowie Montague
county. His many friends were
proud to see him. He came to
help his brother Lonnie move.
White is one of those hustling
feliow9. He reads the Post-Sig-
nal and keeps up with the times.
Noah and Frank have found a
new range of country but have
not located a girl yet.
Mr. and Mrs. Henderson vis-
ited Mrs. Gocch Sunday evening
Miss Mable Henderson was the
guest of Miss Norah Walling last
Sunday.
Say, Mr. Orus, keep an eye on
Blankenship, and if he starts
to Bloomfield phone me at once.
If this don’t find its way to the
waste basket I will be on hand

Mr. W. B. Stiles will leave
Monday for Washington to visit
his daughter, Mrs. Joe Ives.
The musicale at Mr. Joel Me-
McReynolds’ Friday night was
well attended and all had an en-
joyable time.
Miss Ruth McReynolds and
and Miss Claudia McReynolds
are visiting Ruth's sister, Mrs.
Flora Crawtord at Sanger.
Mrs. Moore of Michigan is vis-
iting her neice. Mrs. T. L. Tur-
pin.
Mrs. Susan Bradshaw visited
at Tom Asher’s from Saturday
until Sunday.
Mr. Welsie King and Mr. Hugh
Cudd returned Saturday from
Collin county where they have
been picking ootton.
There is a considerable scare
in this community on account of
a mad dog. Elzie Wilson hi d
one to go mad and leave home,
but was killed near White’s store
Elzie got some of the slobber
from the dogs mouth on his hard
and went to the madstone at
Gainesville. The stone stuck 19
hours.
The thanksgiving dinner giv-
en at Mr. Nathaniel Lewis’s was
well attended but the writer was
not present to see what kind of a
time was had.
Oak Hill Items.
We are having some very rainy
weather just now, which is
greatly appreciated by wheat
sowers.
Several from here attended
preaching at Mountain Springs
Sunday.
Mr. Fate Davis left Saturday
for his home in Oklahoma after
a brief visit with relatives.
School is progressing nicely
with Mr. Porter as principal.
Last Sunday at 10 o’clock, Mr.
Chess Davis and Miss Beulah
Burns were united in the holy
bonds of matrimony, Rev. West
officiating. The young couple
have the best wishes of the en-
tire community for a long and
happy married life. A nice sup-
per was served at the home of
bride Sunday night.
Health of the community is
excellent.

Weather has been damp and
cloudy for several days past,
mixed with some showers.
Cotton picking is about done
except a little scattering in the
field.
Our school is getting on nicely
the attendance increasing every
few days.
Opossum hunting i9 getting to
be common these moon shiny
nights. A posse consisting of
boys and girls and married men
and women went hunting last
Friday night and caught one
’possum.
G. H. Boggs has recently
painted his residence which
makes everything look quite
new.
Marion Price and family of
Pilot Point came out to hia
brother Milierd Price’s last Fri-
day afternoon.
Martin Crutsinger of Dexter
visited his father, E. 8. Crut-
singer, last week.
J. W Lemons and family of
Haskel have moved back to our
community to live.
John Crutsinger and Poley
Foutch have moved to. our com-
munity to live.
Uncle John Minton moved to
his place last week in the Burton
community.
A few killed hogs the past
cool spell and got a taste of fresh
pork.
John Hames was in the Wes- ,
ley Chapel neighborhood a few
days ago and bought him a span
of young mules.
J. E. Price left Monday morn- j
ing for Teague, on a prospecting
trip for a few days.
Mr. Parker of near Van AN
styne has bought the Sol Miller
property here and is putting in
a stock of goods. We are glad
to have this addition to our com-
munity.

county, where they have been
for some time. They have since
moved into the house vacated by
