ship Hall of First Baptist
Church, Cooper, honored Miss
Eleene Davis, bride-elect of
Mark Choate. Hosting the event
were Mines, Daphna Blevins,
Geneva Chandler, Robbie Craig,
i Ua Hocutt, Mary 1 ittle, Ity
Nell Ninuno, Bobbie Shaffer
and Pat Waters.
Gtu>sts were greeted b> the
honoree, her mother, Mrs. John
B. Davis of Wills Point, and
Mrs. Joe Choate, mother of the
groom-elect.
The serving table, laid in a
lace cloth over blue, was cen-
tered with an arrangement of
Baby mums and Baby ’s Breath
in a crystal bowl, flanked by
four white tapers in crystal
candleholders, accented with
blue net.
Miss Lynda Choate, sister
of the groom-elect (mured punch
served with decorated cookies,
nuts, blue and white mints.
Miss Karla Nimmo presided
at the registry table which was
centered with the bride-elect’s
Memory Candle. Approximate-
ly 45 guests registered between
the appointed hours of 7:00 and
9:00 o'clock.
The hostesses presented the
honoree with an electric fry
pan.

1:00 to 4:00 p.m., the Greenville
Altrusa Club will sponsor its
21st Annual Christmas Pilgrim-
age of Homes. Homes to be
featured in the Pilgrimage this
year include those of Mr. and
Mrs. David Coker, 4 Post Oak
Circle; Mr. and Mrs. B. M.
Campbell, 3410 Nashville; Mr.
and Mrs. Pat Stromberg. 3204
Stonewall; and Mr. and Mrs.
Charles V. Pickens, 2406 Roy-
al Lane.
Featured again this year will
be the “Goodie Bar” located
on the second floor of the Citi-
zens National Bank.
The Pilgrimage Reception
and Tea will be in the Directors’
Room of Citizens National Bank
and John Hornbeck’sGreenville
High School A’Capella Choir
will be entertaining in the Bank
Lobby.
Tickets for the entire tour
will be $1.00 per person. These
may be purchased at the Bank
or all homes in the Pilgrimage.
The Greenville Altrusa Club
is a Service Club and the pro-
ceeds from the Pilgrimage will
be used by the Club for many
service projects.

Meeting Held
NEWS FROM PECAN GAP
Mrs. E. L. Cummings
Miss Terry Aon Menefee,
bride-elect of Stephen Fisher,
was honored with a kitchen
shower on December 2. Mrs.
John O. Blakeslee of Garland
hosted the event in the Garden
Room of the Eastern Hills Coun-
try Club, Garland.
1 raditional Christmas decor-
ations were used throughout the
club. Entrance to the Garden
Room was flanked by huge
Christmas trees decorated with
gold satin, singing birds and
velvet bows.
Greeting guests with the hon-
oree were her mother, Mrs.
William G. Menefee, Mrs. J.C.
Eisher, Jr., mother of the fti-
ture groom; and Mrs. Blakes-
lee.
Guests were served cake
scares, decorated in the hon-
oree’s chosen colors of Christ-
mas red and green, and fruit
punch from crystal and silver
appointments gracing the white-
laid table. Decorations in
Christmas red and green com-
plimented the table decor.
Twenty-six guests called be-
tween the appointed hours of
2:30 and 5:00 p. m.
Metnlvrs of the Town and
Country Garden Club met Tues-
day morning November 27 at
the Delta Country Club with
Mrs. D. D. Lynch serving as
hostess.
During the busuiess session
conducted bj club president,
Mrs. Carl L. McDonald, plans
were completed for a Christ-
mas party to be held at the
Country Club on December 7.
Mrs. Clayton McGraw gave a
report on the Eedc rated Garden
Clubs Northern Zone meeting
held recently in Honey Grove;
and plans were discussed for a
Birthday Party at Cooper Manor
in January.
Program for the day was
presented by Mrs. Lynn Dotson,
discussing the third chapter of
the club study book, “Japanese
Elower Arrangements” by
Mary Badham Kittel.
At the close of the meeting
a “Going Aw;ty” gift was pre-
sented to Mrs. Bill Casteel.
Mr. and Mrs. M. T. Gradj,
Lubbock, spent a week with
Mrs. Helen Hall and Ernest
Campbell during the Thanks-
giving holidays.
Recent visitors of Mrs. Maud
Morgan were her daughter,
Mrs. Charles Merrill, and son,
Charles Morgan Merrill, Dal-
las; Mr. and Mrs, Gilbert Boy-
er, Greenville, Mrs, Don Ford
and daughter Ruthie, Conroe.
Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Bart-
lett, Garland, visited his grand-
mother, Mrs. Mamie Bartlett
during the Thanksgiving holi-
days.
Hugh Terrell visited Mrs.
Inez Shipman, Honey Grove,
Thursday.
Word has been received here
that Mrs. Ruth Routt of Dallas
is improving in a Dallas hos-
pital after a severe heart ail-
ment.
M rs. Bernice Sullivan and dau -
ghter, Commerce, visited Mrs.
Gene RoucherSunday afternoon.
Mrs. Hugh Robertson, Ladon-
ia, Route 1, visited Mrs. L. E.
Pickard Thursday. Mrs. Laur-
ine Garrison visited her moth-
er, Mrs. Pickard, and her fa-
ther, Mr. Pickard, in the Com-
merce hospital Sunday.
Miss Linda Pickard, a teach-
er in the Terrell public school,
visited her mother, Mrs. Ama-
lie Pickard last weekend; also
her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
L. E. Pickard.

Cummings. Saturday afternoon
Rev. O. E. Cummings delivered
the message at the Ordination.
