WE STICK TO OUR LASTS
There was a time when pharmacists
often were called “Doc.” Doubtless it was
a complimentary gesture.
Even in this late day, the pharmacist frequently
is asked to diagnose and prescribe by his customers.
But like the shoemaker, we pharmacists
stick to our own lasts. We neither diagnose nor
prescribe. These health team functions fall within
the special province of physicians
both by law and professional training.
As a member of the health team, v/e are an
intermediary, serving both the doctor
and the patient. Our job is to compound
youi prescriptions carefully and promptly.
