In loving memory ot our dear
wife and mother, Mri. Annie
Mynar, who paaxed away four
years ago, November 11, 1957.
A precious one from us is gone,
A voice we love is stilled.
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.
The Zion Ladies Aid met on
Nov. 2 at 2:30 p. m. in the par-
ish hall.
The meeting opened with
singing of a hymn. Scripture
reading was by Pastor T. H.
Oraalmann, followed with a
prayer. >
The topic was, “This is Lov-
ing,” taken from the wom-
en’s quarterly. A report was
read from the LWML Rally
that was held at Wards re-
cently.
Mrs. Hermes attended a
welfare board meeting on
Oct. 19 with Pastor Arndt.
Mr. Brinton thanked the
ladies for the curtain they had
i sewed in the girls’ rest room
in school. He also showed
samples of napkins for all oc-
casions and a larger assort-
ments of Christmas items
which the Walter Leaguers
have for sale.
Hostesses were Mrs. Herman
A. Lehmann and Mrs. Fred
Miertschin.
Miss Judy Kallus, the fresh-
man candidate, was elected the
Harvest Festival Queen, at the
Flatonia P-TA’S Harvest Fes-
tival Saturday. It marked the
first time that the honor had
been won by a freshman in the
history of the queen’s contest.
A parade was held at 4 p. m.
and was followed by a turkey
supper served cafeteria style
from 5:30 until 7:45. The coro-
nation and grade school pro-
gram were held at 8 o’clock
with a record hop climaxing
the evening. Kent Horton serv-
ed as disc jockey.
Other entertainment at the
festival, which was termed a
big success, included hay-
rides, side shows, history ex-
hibit, fish pond, house of hor-
rors, a country store and an
old hats and comic sale.
