Is an extra day to avoid the
New Year's Day traffic worth
having to attend classes one Sat-
urday? Hardin - Simmons University
students are being asked this
question by the Student Senate
in an attempt to bring a proper
request to the administration and
faculty Hilton Hemphill Student
Association president announced.
A questionnaire appears in this
issue of the Brand. Students are
asked to fill out the form and
drop it in the box to be provided
in the Student Center this week-
end. Student Senate members will
also be gathering student opin-
ions since the Senate has voted
to make the item a top priority
project.
The student opinion will be
given to the administration along
with a recommendation from the
Student Senate. The administra-
tion and faculty committee must
pass on the recommendation.
Any holiday given the students
must be made up since there can
be no more holidays if the Uni-
versity is to abide by policies set
forth by the accrediting agency
George Graham executive vice-
president explained.
Please check your choice and
place in box in Student Cen-
ter this weekend.
I would rather have
holiday and attend class one
Saturday.
I would rather leave
the holiday schedule as it is.
