43rd Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jasek
celebrated their 43rd wedding
anniversary with an open
house Sunday afternoon at the
Warrenton hall.
A delicious lunch was serv-
ed to about 250. The table was
centered with a beautiful
three-tiered anniversary cake
decorated with pink and yel-
low sugared roses, white wed-
ding bells and doves and topp-

Negro girl were arrested for steal-
ing merchandise from the stores.
The loot included five transistor
radios, one rod and reel, two caps,
one base ball glove, and one flash-
light.
22, Trip to Schulenburg serving
citations
23, Early this morning the night
poUceman from Schulenburg
brought a hoy to jail who he
caught prowling around town. He
was riding a bicycle which he had
stolen at 'Yoakum. One drunk was
the daughters and daughter-in-
law wore corsages made with
yellow net and ribbon center-
ed with a small orchid. Mr.
Jasek wore a white rose bout-
onniere, and the son and sons-
in-law wore a small yellow
daisy boutonniere. The grand-
daughters wore white daisy
corsages, and the grandsons
had boutonnieres consisting of
a white daisy.
Mr. Jasek and Miss Sophia
Kurtzeman were married
June 18, 1918 at the St. John
Catholic church in Fayetteville
with the Rev. John Vanicek
performing the rites. They
have nine daughters; Mrs. H.
E. (Angelina) Dowell of
Houston, Mrs. Toxie Lee (Le-
breaking in two houses.

The Ladies Altar Society
held its regular monthly meet-
ing Monday night at Sacred
Heart school.
Most of the business was of
routine nature. The charity
and sick committee reported
having sent a curd to Mrs.
Martha Von Rosenberg. The
votive stpnd chairman, Mrs. L.
J. Sandera, reported $17.21
for June. The resolutions
chairman, Mrs. John Sumbera,
stated a Mass had been ar-
ranged for the intention of
Mrs. Frank Urban.
Mrs. S. J. Janak volunteer-
ed to donate several needed
items, and several ladies
volunteered to send flowers to
the hospital on Wednesdays
during July.
It was announced that 40-
hours devotions would be
held in the parish in August.
A record entitled “Opera-
tions Coffee Cup,” a record
concerning socialized medicine,
was played on a record
player at the request of the La
Grange Medical auxiliary.
Rev. Harry Mazurkiewicz in
his remarks asked for continu-
ed interest in the Confratern-
ity of Christian Doctrine. He
spoke on the practice of special
devotions to the “Most Preci-
ous Blood” during July. The
most precious blood is the sign
of God’s love for us and of
the sufferings and death of
Christ on the Cross, he stated.

lon Collier, was killed Tuesday
in an accident involving an
earth moving machine he was
driving at the construction site
of Interstate Route 10 two
miles west of Columbus.
The day was spent in merry'

The wedding of Miss Billie Ann
Warren, daughter of Mr. and Mrs
H. L. Warren, and Bobby Gadd of
Smlthvllle wns solemnized on June
24 at the Muldoon Baptist church
with Rev. Henry Adrton III offi-
ciating in the double ring cere-
mony.
The bride was given in marriage
by her father. She wore a floor
length dress of tulling made with
a fitted bodice and an over-jacket,
long tapered sleeves that came
to a point over the hands, and a
pointed stand up collar. The en-
tire jacket was outlined with lace.
The bill aklrt had rows and rows
of gathered tulling. The brtde had
a finger-tip veil attached to a
pearl crown. She carried a bou-
quet of white carnations with
white streamers.
The maid of honor was Miss
Barbara Ann Boehnke. a close
friend of the bride. Tie best man
was Crawford Gadd, brother of the
groom. Gary Warren sang "I Love
You Truly” and Mrs Harvey War
ren played the piano Miss Janet
Hue Warren and Miss Charlene
Warren registered the guests in
the bride's book David King and
Willie Franklin Warren were the
ushers.
The reception followed at the
chnrch with Mrs Charles Warren.

Father Dies •
Virgil R. (Lucky) Hart receiv-
ed the sad message that bis father
had pnsed away Wednesday night
following a heart attack at his
home In Tucson. Arizona.
Mr. and Mrs. Hart left Friday
night by bus for Tucson.
He Is survived by his wife, three
sons and several grandchildren

Collier was driving the ma-
chine, capable of carrying 20
cubic yards up to around 40
miles an hour, when the scrap-
er came loose and dug into the
roadway, stopping the machine
suddenly.
A big clod of dirt crushed
Collier against the dash and
windshield. He died instantly,
according to JP R. K. Jackson,
who ruled the death accident-
al.
Collier had worked about a
year on the expressway loop
that will by-pass Columbus on
the south.

rived Monday morning at the
Heights hospital. The baby,
who weighed six pounds nine
ounces, was named Harvey
