Former Citizen Dies
" ** Joe-Zurovec passed away
Friday in El Campo after a
long and lingering illness.
He was a former Gistern
resident and engaged in the
mercantile business prior to
moving to El Campo.
He was a brother-in-law
i! of A. V. Psencik and Mrs.
’ August Harbich, and had a
j host of relatives and friends
here. A large number of lo-
cal people attended the fu-
neral in.El Campo Monday
e morning.
School Opens Sept. 4
The Cistern public school
will begin the' 1962-63 term
Sept. 4.
John J. Beck will again
assume his responsibili-
ties as principal and Mrs.
Marguerite fiigley will be
assistant teacher.
Buses will run the same
routes and at the same'time
as were the last term.
Mrs. Joe Harbich will be
cook and operate the lunch
room. Lunch will be served
on the opening day. Meal
tickets will be the' same
price as last term.
Linen Shower
Mrs. Jerry Otahal, a re-„
cent bride, was honored
Sunday afternoon in the
Recreation HaU here with a
linen shower. She received
many useful and beau\iful
gifts, for which she express-
ed her very sincere appre-
ciation.

were married in St. Michael
Catholic Church in Collyer,
Kans. on.Saturday, Aug. 18.
