day, the regulars winning the
opener, 3-0, behind lefty Ricky
Peters’ one-hit stint but drop-
ped the “B” tilt by 3-1.
The Leps counted all of
their tallies in the sixth frame
of the main tilt, a two-bagger
by David Schultz and a single
by Malcolm Voelkel plating
the ice breaker.
Peters fanned eight in go-
ing the seven-inning route.
Schultz, with two bingles, led
La Grange batsmen.
Bobby Glaiser and Larry
Jaster hurled for the Leopard
Bees.
High school diamond action

An important meeting for
La Grange Babe Ruthers will
be held in the district court
room of the court house here
Monday night, April 5.
Pres. Jack W. Ingram says
it is imperative that all pros-
pective BR players be in at-
tendance. However, those that
cannot make (be meeting are
instructed to return their re-
gistration cards to either of
the two local banks by the
previous Saturday, April 3.
Mr. Ingram said that this
year a team of 13-year-old lads
also would be formed, playing
“spot” matched games with
similar teams from area towns
throughout the season.

Meets; Plans Rodeo
The La Grange FFA chapter
held its meeting last Thursday
night in the vocational agricul-
tural building.

was sent to the guest speaker
who came to the father and
son banquet.
The chapter elected Milroy
Helmkcn as the boy of the
month for February and Larry
Kasper for March.

Morgan, Larry Gunn, Douglas

The wedding music was pro-
vided by Miss Karen Hruska
Two arrangements of white
gladioli graced the altar
The bride, who walked down
the aisle alone, wore an im-
ported bowknot chantilace
gown with long sleeves and a
chapel train. Her neckline and
bodice sparkled with irrides-
cent sequins. A veil of French
illusion fell from a crown of
pearls and crystals. She car-
ried a cascade arrangement of
carnations and an orchid.
Mrs. Melvin Charles Mel-
cher, sister-in-law of the bride,
was matron of honor and
bridesmaids were Misses Nan-
cy Wesuels, Leonita Citzler,
Lillian Hoehne, and Debbie
Taylor of Junction Little Bec-
ky Huelsebusch was flower
girl.
The matron of honor wore a
lavender brocaded taffeta
dress with a round neckline,
short set-in sleeves and a dou-
ble overskirt. The brides-
maids wore pink, blue, green
and yellow dresses made iden-
tically to the honor attendant.
Each wore a leaf-covered pill
box with a veil attached by a
self-fabric rose to match. Each
carried a cascade bouquet of
white mums.
Melvin Charles Melcher, the
bride’s brother, was best man
and groomsmen were Glen
Royce Weyand, Garry San-
ders, Billy Cockrell and Mich-
ael Hodges. Brad Barber was
ring bearer. Ushers were Al-

After a honeymoon trip to
Austin, the couple will live at
803 East Seventh in Smith-
ville. The bride is a junior at
La Grange High school and
will continue her schooling at
Smithville High school. Her
husband graduated from
Smithville High in 1963.
