Gets Promotion
Albert J. Veselka, 25, whose
wife lives at 109 W. Avenue G,
Temple, Texas, recently was
promoted to corporal with the
40th Infantry Division in
Korea.
The former California Na-
tional Guard division, which
arrived in Korea during early
1952, is undergoing intensive

School Closes For Holidays
The local school will close De-
cember 23. for the holidays, and
re-open January 4.
Home On Furlough
Victor Vluklarek, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Clem Vlnklarek, who is serv-
ing In the U. S. Air Corp and sta-
tioned in Arizona, is enjoying a
visit with homefolks and other re-
| latives and friends here.
