In their first program last
Friday the Group told about
the history of the camp which
has been operated by the Lone
Star District of the Walther
League since 1945. Moderated
by Mr. Socha, the program
featured counselors Fay Get-
schman of Weimar, Janet So-
cha of Giddings and Edward
Haase of Fort Worth; Camp
Manager Theodore Schroeder
of La Grange, and two camp-
ers, Eddie Keuer Jr. of Aus-
tin and Becky Whaley of Hous-
ton.
This week's program will
give a detailed review of the
camping program activities.
Counselors Edgar Richter of
Giddings and Linda Timian,
both students at Lutheran
Concordia college, will explain
the activities for which they
are responsible. Mike Antil of
Brownsville and Jo Carol
Walsh of Houston, will repre-
sent the boys and girls of the

Lincoln came out from a
deficit at the Round Top July
4 celebration to score six runs
in the sixth and defeat the
Shelbians, 9-7,
Calvin Brandt, who took over
Bobby Schlabach's stacked
bases in the sixth, is charged
with the loss, while James
Schulze went the route for the
winners in the only Tri-Coun-
ty League game of the day.
In the regular Sunday games,
Burton’s Billy Arhoes two-hit-
ted visiting Shelby for an 11-
0 whitewash, while his team-
mates nicked loser Wendell
Rudloff and Calvin Brandt for
14 safeties.

luckless Carmine, 12-6, and to
cinch the second spot of the

At Schroeder Park, the Knic-
kerbockers cashed seven hits
for seven runs in the second
to win a see-saw slugfest from
Lincoln, 11-9. Lanky Gus

kowiak in the fifth, is credited
with the win, while Raymond
Meyers went the route for
the losers.
On next Sunday’s slate, Bur-
ton goes to Carmine, Mound
Hill to Lincoln, and the Knick-
erbockers invade Shelby for a
crucial battle for the third
spot of the Tri-Courlty League.
