members of the newly organized
law enforcement fraternity Beta
Beta Nu will be on Thursday
March 30 at 12 noon in Room
208 of Moody Center.
Richard Pincomb vice presi-
dent of Region II in the Police
Science Department at the New
Mexico State University in Las
Cruces New Mexico will be the
guest speaker at the installation
ceremony.
Those officers to be initiated
are George Lawless president;
Clyde Watson vice president;
Debby Kersey secretary; David
Hanks treasurer; and James
Dermedy sergeant at arms.
A total of 24 H-SU students
were accepted into the National
Criminal Justice Fraternity the
national law enforcement frater-
nity. The organization is for all
students majoring in law en-
forcement who have a grade
point average of at least 2.0.
Sponsors of the club include
Jess Cariker director of thq Law
Enforcement program and Noel
P. Callaway instructor in law
enforcement.

The Southwest Texas victory
saw Eddie Cantu No. 4 singles
player win his first match of the
season. He beat Bob Butler 6-
2 3-6 6-3. Randall Treadwell
beat Howard Geisick 6-0 6-3;
John Vanbuskirk defeated Ken
Kraus 6-1 6-3; and Jim Comp-
ton lost to Marvin Henderson 6-
2 6-1.
In doubles Treadwell and
"ed George Avery 6-2 6-1; Comp-
ton defeated Mark Gentry 6-0
8-6; and Cantu downed Kevin
Ballard 4-6 6-4 6-1.
Vanbuskirk and Treadwell
downed Hallum-Avery 6-3 6-4;

Gentry-Ballard 6-4 7-5.
Next action for the Cowboys
is April 13 when they entertain
Eastern New Mexico University'.

Cowboys post 8th victory
host Dallas Baptist today
The Cowboy Baseball team al-
ready has won as many games
this year as it did all last sea-
son. They'll have a good chance to
add a couple more Tuesday
afternoon when they entertain
the Dallas Baptist Indians on the
H-SU diamond. The first game
starts at 1 p.m. This will be the
Cowboys' final action before the
holidays. They play Centenary
in Shreveport Friday April 7.
The Pokes posted their eighth
victor last Friday when they
won the second game of a dou-
bleheader from St. Edwards Uni-
versity Hilltoppers on the H-SU
diamond.
5ix wild pitches and a two-
base error kept the Cowboys
from winning both games. They
led the Hilltoppers 3-0 going in-
to the fourth inning after three
Cowboys reached first on errors.
Bob Pufal and Gary Littlefield
got singles to drive in the three
runs.
But the Pokes managed to get
