Here are a few of the more
important facts brought out in
the survey reports:
• Agriculture is a $12 mil-
lion to $13 million annual in-
dustry, with approximately :54
million derived yearly from
beef cattle, $2,750,000 from
dairying, $1,750,000 from cot-
ton, $1,500,000 from grain sorg-
hums, SI, million from swine,
and $500,000 each from poultry
and pecans.
• The county's population
of 20,348 at the 1960 census
showed a loss of 15.7 percent
with $5,912 for the state.
. As a final business item, and
one which involved considera-
ble discussion, the chairman
was authorized to appoint a
committee of citizens from the
several incorporated towns or
towns with chambers of com-
merce to determine what facts
about the respective areas are
