British Medical Kesearch Council
Committee recently carried on a
controlled study of 122 brpfichi-
ectasis patients in seven medical
centers and reported their findings
in the British Medical Journal.

of hospital care. Patients who re-
ceived penicillin fared better than
those who received mo antibiotics.

third group of patients who were
treated with the powerful anti-
biotic Terramycin. In these pa-
tients, fever and infection sub-
sided more quickly, they were con-
fined to bed for shorter periods,
and were able to go to work soorter
than patients in the other groups.
Such studies, of course, are of
immense benefit in the medical
