Several floodwater re-
tarding structures on the
Brady Creek Watershed
were releasing water down
stream to Brady Lake. The
largest amount of water
was being released by Site
17 located on the Noyes
ranch south of Melvin.
Sites 36 and 37 on up the
watershed on Maverick Creek
were also releasing water, ac-
cording to George Johanson,
supervisor of the San Saba-
Brady Soil Conservation Dis-
trict.
Water was also going through
the principal spillway on Site*
39, 40, and 41 located north
of Melvin after heavy rains
in this vicinity Saturday night
and Sunday. Site 39 is located
on the Harold Price ranch and
Sites 40 and 41 on the Noble
Johnson ranch.
Site 6 at Nine on the John
Bratton place had a good flow
of water being released. Bratton
also reported that Site 11 on
the G. R. White Ford ranch
was also releasing some water.
Dick Winters reported that
Site 1 on Post Oak Creek south-
west of Brady was also re-
leasing water. Water had also
been through the principal spill-
way and released down steam
on Site 46 located at Fairview
on the O. D. Pence ranch but
had stopped Tuesday morning.
Both of these structures are lo-
cated below Prady Lake.
The larger structures up-
stream such as Sites 17, 39
and 41 should continue to
release floodwater through
the principal spillways for
several days, Powell said.
