BAPTIST NEWS NOTES
Baptist news is short these jpayts,
but it has sune good features!. There
is activity sufficient to show life
among the members, and there have
been three received on promise of let-
ters.
On the first Sunday after his re-
turn from school- Byrd Minter
promptly came to us for renewal of
his membership with us. Byrd is a
very promising young man who at-
tends the church services regularly,
and shows interest in the work by
taking part in it and by giving at-
tention to ) what is being done*
Sister Blount and her son, Grady,
came to us on promises of letters
from First Baptist Church of Corpus
Ohritetl We are "glad to (welcome
these to our church and they .are
starting off nicely. Grady is working ;
in S. S. and in the B. Y. P. XI.. He !
is a fine hoy and his mother is justly
proud of him.
We are all glad to see among us
again Mrs. R. E. Farley, who went
on a visit to her daughters in Hous-
ton. Her record of churc-h attendance
is such that if she is absent, it is
time to inquire why. The habit of
church attendance is a duty, and peo-
ple should form the church going
habit*. It gives a satisfaction of its
own and sets an example worthy of
being followed. Tt is still true that
“All are not saints who go to church.”
hut it is also true that the best of
saints go to church unless hindered
by sickness or something else. Tf
you really wish to he better,, suppose
you try going to church services reg-
ularly as one means of helping you
to be better. What a trio prayer,
bible reading, and church attendance
make. A trinle cord is not easily
broken.''
If you do not worship elsewhere-
worship with us.

services of Mr. A. A. Allen that desire
has been fulfilled.
The bulletin board is very neat and
attractive. The pupils and teachers
with Mr. Korgfes appreciate Mr. Al-
len's kindness in making this needed
article.

it! resenting the Chamber of Com-
merce of Aransas Pass, gave a most
interesting talk to the studen-s. He
assured them of flic cooperation of
the Chamber of Commerce in making
the county meet a success.
A large part of Mr. Flock's talk
was devoted to school spirit. His talk
was most encouraging and made every
one feel a bigger personal responsibil-
ity, not only for the success of the
coming county meet, but also for the
future success of his school and town.
