The Hrady Standard has
completed arrangements for is-
suing a Special Interscholastic
Fdition next Tuesday, to boost
and advertise the big inter-
scholastic meet to lie held in
Brady Friday and Saturday,
March fttnt and April 1st. The
edition will contain a complete
j1 program of events—literary
i j contests, track and field. Also
|; it will contain much of inter-
( est in the way of special school
(news nnd features of the inter-
i scholastic contests now being
held throughout the state of
| Texas.
J The McCulloch County Inter-
i scholastic Meet, from a rather
| inauspicious beginning, has
! grown hy leaps nnd bounds un-
j til this year, when practically
every school in the county will
be represented in the various
events and contests.

| urday had on exhibition here
| six head of registered Hereford
j bulls, just received by him from
Fort Worth, where he had pur-
chased them from the Fat
j Stock Show. The bulls are con-
1 ceded to be as fine stock ns ev-
er bus been shipped here. They
have occasioned much favorable
comment from all spectators.
Five of the animals are two
years olds. The sixth is a year
ling. The animals range in
weight from 1500 lbs. to 16f>0
Ihs. The price paid for the six
head totaled f.1,000.
Mr. Richards bought from
three of Texas foremost Here-
ford breeders, vix: Tom I*ur
rott of Throckmorton, Colbert
and Son of Stamford and Bar-
ney Conner of Claude, Texaa.
The animals have been taken
to Richards’ Ranch east of
Brady, to head his famous herd
of 400 fine Hereford onttle.

state, asking how many “stops"

Then he sent the postmaster*

all the residences served hy

the largest city to receive ques-
tionnaires for all residence*.
Before launching the project,
Pool chocked with the Post Of-
fice Department to make sure
he could use his "frank." or
fiee mailing privilege. The
questionnaires were ruled non-
political In character, so use
of the frank was permitted.
Many of the replies carried
addresses that puzzled the pos-
tal officials. Although the
questionnaires Ism* Pool’s pic-
tuie and signature, many of the
replies were addressed: "House
of Representative*. I'. S., Pub-
lii Document Official Business"
