noon to the State Penitentiary
in Huntsville by Deputy Sheriff
Gojdon Jones and Texas Ranger

15-year-old Galveston boy were
found in the Gainer Store at
Rochelle on the right of Dec.
23 by Highway Patrolman Jack
Straley. Passing the store,
Straley. noticed a car packed
outside and went back to in-
vestigate.
Straley flashed a light in
the store and spotted the men.
I They escaped out the hack door
but Straley had their car ami
identification papers they had
left in the car. They were ar-
rested the next morning in Mar-
ble Falla.

Completes Police
Course in Oregon
Richard Castanuela of Melvin,
an air policeman at the Port-
land (Ore.) Air Force Base,
recently completed "20 hours of
training at the Portland Police
Academy.
For all law enforcement
agencies in the Portland area,
the academy gave the officers
basic instruction in police pro-
cedure.

er, He is the son of Mr. and

Hurley Thomas Brown, 52,

died at 8 p. m. Tuesday at the
veterans hospital in Kerrville.
Born in Cameron Sept. 1,
1911, he had lived in Brady
