However, if production ex-
ceed* demand, then the price
of oil decreases. Any excessive
over-production, such as occur-
red in the lid’s in Hast Texas
when oil sold for 10 cents a
barrel, will cut deeply into the
checks received by owners of
minerul rights in land from
which Texus’ oil and gas are
produced. Langdon suid.
“A market demand law pre-
vents the production of more
oil than can lie sold;” Langdon
said. "This gunrds against
economic wustc hy instituting
a system of sound conservation.”

that he ia opposed to excessive
foreign imports, but unfortun-

the federal government, and not
by the Tf*xas Railroad Commis-
sion. He aid he was against
federal control of fietroleum.

amounts to a program of de-
lilierate waste. It is a program
of anti-conservation that would
depress oil prices and certainly
have an economic effect in all
part* of the state,” langdon
said.
As for lower crude prices
making gasoline cheaper to
consumers, Langdon said the
opposite effect would result.

in business at present prices,1
