the last time this weekend.
Playing Poter Ustinov's the
General of the smallest country
in .Europe in "Romanoff and
Juliet" Young skillfully captures
his audience through the medium
of Ustinov's wit and song.
IN A VAIN attempt to man-
euver this master diplomat
Hooper Moulsworth the Ameri-
can ambassador portrayed by
Warren Lewis ultimately sub-
mits to the old adage "Love con-
quers all." The validity in this
case defies its triteness.
Tills is the last show of the

relations between the United
States and Russia. Reflecting
Ustinov's affedtlon for the eccen-
tric and unadapting "Romanoff

triviality that makes it more
amusing than convincing.
A CONNOISSEUR of absurd-
ites Ustinov has that rare gift
of using mockery to build char-
acter and to express compassion.
Thus though you are sub-
scribing to a "good spring tonic
of laughter" by seeing "Romanoff
and Juliet" you will also
through all the tongue-in-cheek
humor come away with a warm
affedtlon and appreciation for
both friend and foe.
Fantastic frivolous and frank
"Romanoff and Juliet" exposes
through a phenomenal wit both
the evils and virtues engendered
by the reality of our political
world.

For almost a week NBC Tele-
vision promoted a Chet Huntley
report of the farm problem which
was to have been televised on
March 13. Many people were In-

Thoy had their television sets
turned to Channel 4 (in Amarillo)
which is the Globe-News station

What alrms us is not the pos-

We 'may ven agree that the

what uturance do we have that

I think It would be wise to ex-

be better able to decide whether
we should share the "faith" that

By
Some twelve years ago Paul
Sudaka an avid Hindu sat in the
office of the Vice-president of
India. The Vice-president Rada
Krishma is recognized as the
foremost Hindu philosopher in
the world. Paul finally asked the
question "Will you be my Guru"
e.g. teacher. Krishma replied
"There is only one worthy of that
name Jesus of Nazareth." Paul
was quite stunned at this and
said "But he is dead and gon6.''
Th6 Vlcepresdenti replied "tip
he h living today?' Mr. Sudaka
bristled and barked "Do you be-
lieve he has risen -from the dead?"
The philosopher paused and
slowly replied "I don't know for
sure but I know thousands to
whom he Is a living reality."
This was more than Paul could
take; he felt he must learn more
about this Jesus of Nazareth.
After many weeks of concentrat-
ed study of God's word he came
to certain conclusions. He had
come to accept Christ as the son
of God. He wanted to be a part
of Christ's body his Church. He
then outlined tho organization of
the church an outline that would
agree with the writings of the
Apostle Paul.

KGNC-TV chooses not to carry
an NBC program it just won't
be heard by Amarillo and those
in the area who cannot get an-
other NBC station.
According to one of our Amar-
illo rfcaders who called the sta-
tion Bob Watson of KGNC-TV
said the program was cancelled
because it was "dlshonedt biased
and one-sided." Also he said it
was "boring" and that "it would
not have been a good presenta-
tion for the viewers of Channel
4." And according to this reader
who quoted Bob the Reagan film
was the "handiest hour show"
they could find.
(The Optimist is here omit-
ting part of a letter written by a
'-Presbyterian minister written to
Watson of KGNC-TV. A copy of
the letter was also 6ent to Chet
Huntley. Here is one paragraph).

After some disappointments
with some denominational groups
Paul finally met Authur Morris.
Arthur Is a preacher of tho
Church and agreed to baptize
Paul Into 'Christ.
Since that wonderful day Paul
has given up a good paying job
and relied nroon the Lord to pro-
vide for him and his family. Ho
has endured many tribulations
but has. become orierof.the .most
powerful.? speakers cin .India. He
is one -of the few men that the
educated Hindu will listen to and
he has converted many of them.
He continues to travel all over
India today but he has a very
hard struggle.
This brother who found this
truth through personal study of
God's word is an example of
people who are looking for truth.
I feel that there are others like
Paul in different countries but I
fear many of them may be in the
96 countries where we do not
have any missionaries. To place
preachers in every country is one
of the things Christ has asked us
to do. His love for us should
motivate us to want to do it; his
death on the cross should compel
us to go.
"You (Watson) stated that you
were glad you could spare tho
citizens of Amarillo from having
to watch such a boring program.
Never in the past two or three
years have I watched a news pro-
duction of NBC Television that
was boring. You also stated that
the production was intellectually
dishonest and biased. I assume
that you consider Reagan's re-
marks honest and unbiased."
The point of this mailer is not
whether or not Chet Huntley's
report was honest or dlshonosf
biased or unbiased boring or in-

of lime and money has been spent
by America's No. 1 network to
