There are about 15 now vol-

rounds Amarillo. NBC Is highly
respected as a network of in-
tegrity just as is CBS.
It operates in a hlgTUy competi-
tive field. If anyone thinks NBC
or CBS can deliberately present
to all America a dishonest biased
and boring report 'and get by
with it then (he needs a
psychiatrist immediately. NBC
operates In a gold fisri bowl. Too
many Informed people not to
monition CBS and perhaps ABC
at itlmcs are poised ready to
.challenge any deliberate aat of
deception of fraud.
The point is if something was
amiss with this program then
the American public in general
and the KGNC-TV audience in
particular should be the judges
not Bob Watson ithe uWhitfJon-
Jburgs Wes Izzard O. J. onany-
body else connected with the or-
ganization which operates a mon-
opoly so far as NBC in Amarillo
and the Golden Spread are con-
cerned. Don't you think so Mr. Minow?
Would anybody care to deny
that "the friendly city" has fallen
behind the Birch Curtain?
Stanislavsky's lectures given at
his studio in the Bolshol Theatre
in Moscow between 1918 and
1021.
SOME HELPFUL books for
drama and theatre research work
are Southern's "The Seven Ages
of the Theailre" and two books on
Greek Roman and English stage
costumes.
Also useful to students are dic-
tionaries "Theatre Language"
"American Dialects" by Mr. and

Fierbaugh Gets Good
Reception to Program
Harry Fierbaugh member of
the Abilene Christian College
music department reported a
"very enthusiastic" reception
given to his program for the Mu-
sic Educators National Confer-
ence in Chicago last week.
Fierbaugh discussed a set of
five films enltltled "An Activities
Approach in Acquainting Chil-
dren with the Music Scale."
The films the only ones of
their kind on the elementary
level are from a series belong-
ing to the University of Iowa and
are now available for purchase or
rental through the College. The
series was aptly dubbed at the
convention "candid ..camera of
elementary music."
Mrs. Lewis Herman includes rep-
resentative dialects of every ma-
jor section of the U.S. plus a gen-
eral description and history of
the dialect. The book also gives
an analysis of vowel and conson-
ant peculiarities lilt and'rhythm.
Girls should enjoy the "New
Garden Books" "How to Keep
House" "Cooking for the Freez-
er" and "Occupational Planning
For Women" according to Miss
Mllliken.
BOYS MIGHT like "Handy-
man's Bdoks' "How to Get More
for Your Money" "General Shop"
and "Buy Now Pay Later."
For married couples there Is
"Husbands and Wives' and "Peo-
ple in Families."
Toxans will enjoy Walter ("The
Good Years") Lord's latest book
"A Time To Stand." Through new
evidence found in letters diaries
and documents Lord sheds a dif-
ferent light on the epic of the
famous Texas Alamo.

When I first came to Abilene
Christian College I was really
Impressed by the friendliness of
the students. All the students
really seemed to care about their
fellow students but as the year
rapidly passes I seem to notice
that those same people don't
smile or even speak.
Have I done something wrong
or what is it? And those that do
speak make It seem a duty in-
stead of a friendly deed. So -I
decided to ask around and find
out' if fit were just I or did
other people feel the same way.
A majority of the people I talked
with said that somehow with all
the other activities going on the
students forget to speak.
Are you getting so Involved in
school and extracurricular activ-
ities that you don't care about
being friendly? Do you know the
CO.THIOHT ltd THI COCA COLA COMPANY. COCA-COLA AND COK AC HUIITf KID TDIMA
names of he people that sit
around you in chapel? B now
you should know all about them
whether or not their kid sister
has the measles or he mumps. If
you don't get acquainted be
friendly and take a genuine In-
terest in the people around you.
These high school students
take time out from their
many activities at High
School Day last Saturday to
discuss all the wonders of
ACC. About 3300 high school
students visited the College
and became better acquainted
with it doing everything
from attending a track meet
to discussing courses with
teachers.
