Preparing for Campds Exhibit
Millie Hughes center Mineral Wells freshman gets
critical approval on one of the drawings she plans to enter
in the freshman-sophomore exhibit now in the Students
Exchange. Looking on are Jim Alsobrook left Alice freshman
and Mary Helen Cunningham Midkiff junior. Next week
evaluations by advanced art students will be posted on the
exhibits. PUrpose of the exhibit according to Brent Green
instructor of art is to promote interest in art on campus.

only two weeks the Alpha Phi
Omega "Transportation Center"
in the Students Exchange already
is ibeing used by a good many
students according to a club
spokesman.

sharing rides home.
APO members encouraged-atu-dents
to fill out a card provided
at the center if they needed rides
or were willing to share rides.
"Don't wait for someone else to
fill out a card in answer to your
need they may be waiting on
you" Ricky Schmidt club officer
said.
The center consists of a map
of the United States and Canada
"with areas divided into 15 zones
according to the population dis-
tribution of students attending
ACC.
BELOW THE map are located
two rows of hooks with IS hooks
in each row. Each hook represents
a different zone; one row of the
hooks is designed for the cards
of students who need rides the
other row for students who will
share rides.
APO asked students not to re-
move cards other than their own.
Club members will check the cen-
ter periodically and remove out
of date cards.

The Abilene Christian Library
Is proud to announce the addition
of the "Do It Yourself Clipping
Service."
Really all It consists of is some
magazines donated to the Library
and a pair of scissors but It Is
designed to keep the library's
magaslnes Intact and give stu-
dents the chance to get clippings
they need.
It is located In the basement of
the library at the south east cor-
ner of the record collection.

ACC Orchestra to Leave Tuesday
For 5 -Day Tour of West Texas
After a concert Mondav nicht.
the Abilene Christian Orchestra
will leave Tuesday on a five-day
tour of West Texas.
The concert is sot for 0 p.m.
Monday In Sewell Auditorium.
GOING AS FAR west as El
Paso the orchestra will return
to Abilene Saturday Dec. 8 to
end its annual winter tour.
The group's first stop will be
Midland where it will present
two concerts and spend Tuesday
night.
Wednesday the orchestra will
go to Odessa to present four con-
certs. The members of the group
will also attend church services
in Odessa and spend Wednesday
'night there.
MONAHANS and Van Horn are
the sites for Thursday concerts.
After concerts In those towns the
group will arrive in El Paso and
spend the night there.
Four El Paso schools will hear
the orchestra Friday.

Three members of the Abilene
Christian chemistry department
attended the annual Robert A.
Welch Foundation's research con-
ference on chemistry Monday
through Wednesday in Houston.
They were Dr. Tommy McCord
associate professor of chemistry;
Dr. Alvle Davis associate profes-
sor of chemistry; and Robert M.
Smith assistant professor of
chemistry. " '
Title df this year's program
was 'Topics in Modern Inorganic
Chemistry." Purpose of the an-
nual conference is to stimulate
and encourage chemical research
in Texas according to McCord.
Among the noted speakers at
this year's conference were two
Nobel prize winners Dr. Glenn
Seaborg chancellor of the Uni-
versity of California and chair-
man of the U. S Atomic Energy
Commission and Dr. Harold
Urey also of the University of
California.

sented on the tour are: Schubert's
fifth symphony the "Russian
Sailor Dance" and Bulgre's "Holi-
day" which will feature a trum-
pet trio composed of Dwayne
Bishop Bennie Haddock and
John Baird.

'The Lark' Scheduled
For Next Semester
Casting will be held Thursday
and Friday of next week for next
semester's major dramatic pro-
duction "The Lark."
Written by a contemporary
French writer. Jean Anouilh the
play is about Joan of Arc. It will
be presented March 1-2.
LEWIS FULKS assistant pro-
fessor of speech will direct the
play and design the sets. Fulks
called 'The Lark" a tremendous-
ly interesting play which will ap-
peal to a wide range of students.
Euripides' "Medea" was origin-
ally scheduled for the spring
semester production but since
Hardln-Slmmons University had
recently presented It '"The Lark"
was chosen.
THE PRODUCTION will fea-
ture recorded music composed by
Leonard Bernstein. Some project-
ed effects will be used in addition
Anthony Ash Reviews
The 'Christian Scholar'

Anthony Ash instructor of
Bible will present the third in
the year's series of faculty book
reviews Tuesday.
He will review E. Harrs Harbi-
son's 'The Christian Scholar in
the Age of the Reformation" at
B'Jp.m: in Nelson Hall Parlor.
Ash said the book is a study of
the relationships of the Christian
scholar to Christianity as such
discussed in terms of its existence
in certain reformation people.

Douglas Fry orchestra conduc-
tor said the Monday concert will
be the orchestra's second public
appearance of the year. The group
played in the Homecoming musi-
cal "Carousel."

Auditions for parts in the one-
act plays to be directed by mem-
bers of Abilene Christian's direct-
ing class will be held Tuesday
from 3-7 pjn.
All interested students are In-
vited to try out a drama depart-
ment spokesman said.
Plays being presented include:
"All My Sons" by Arthur Miller
-directed by Sheryl .Patterson;
"Antigone" by Jean Anouilh di-
rected by Judie De Foor; "Blithe
Spirit" by Noel Coward directed
by Ann Ross; 'Time Remem-
bered" by Anouilh directed by
Jerry Palmer; and "Caesar and
Cleopatra" by George Bernard
Shaw directed by Dennis Con-
nel. Each is a cutting correspond-
ing to the length of one act from
the complete play.
