Windthorst Eases by Throckmorton
The Windthorst Trojans sur-
vived a wild fourth quarter flurry
by Throckmorton Friday night
to earn a 22-20 District 6-A
win. The Trojans scored in
each of the first three quarters
to take a 22-13 margin into the
final period.
A short Greyhound drive
ended at midfield with a 4th
and 12 situation. The Trojans
were hit with a 15 yard penalty
that set up 1st and 10 at the 35.
Throck managed to get in the
endzone with 3:06 left in the
game. Following the extra point
that cut the lead to 22-20, the
greyhounds successfully ex;-
ecuted an on-side kick . After a
first down and 2 penalties,
Throck opted for the long field
goal which went wide left.
The Big Blue Crew took the
lead with 2:55 left in the 1st
quarter on Aidy Syrus's 4 yard
run. Wes Johnson passed to
Josh Wolf for the 2-point con-
version that proved to be the
winning margin.
Throckmorton retaliated with
a TD on a 6-yard run, but Syrus
scored again from 21 yards out.
Johnson's kick set the halftime
numbers at 15-6.
Throckmorton added 6 more
points in the third period be-
fore the Big Blue Crew re-
sponded with Syrus's 3rdT.D..a
9 yard run...and Johnson’s
kick.

108 yards rushing while
Johnson hit 10 of 14 passes for
124 yards.

Trojans will entertain St. Jo for
homecoming.
