The ACC drama department
opened IU spring season Monday
night with Neil Simon's "Star-
Spangled Qirl." The thow hac
played to three medium targe
audience and will enter the
second trio of performance
tonight at 8:00.

from Meridian; Dob Barton

sophomore business administra-
tion major from Haskell. Stu-
dent director for the production
la Graver (Dubba) Garner senior
drama major from Dallas.
The action takes place in the
apartment (a la business office)
of Andy Hobart and Norman
Cornell publisher and writer
respectively of "Fallout Mega-
sine" a failing protest monthly.
Immovable object meets irrieis-
table force when former
Olympic swimmer Sophie
Rauschmeyer moves into the
empty apartment next door. The
irrisistable force is from Hunni-
cut Arkansas and typical of her
background is that they sing "all
four stanaM of the 'Star-
Spangled Banner'."
When Norman flips for
Sophie the real complication
begin. With only five days
remaining before the magaaine
must go to press. Andy suddenly
finds himself faced with the dim
prospects of turning Norman's
attention from their All-
American neighbor to the
problems of the work at hand.
Mies Williams portrays Sophie
while Barton and McCoy play
Andy and Norman respectively
The production crew consists of
house manager Cullen Cullers;
costumes Linda Petty; lighting
Jim Vaughn and Sharon Lane
switchboard operator Gary
Lewis; sound technician Steve
Orr; and property mistress
Lindy Kyker with Becky Palmer
and PhylHs Sheppard as her
assistants.
There will be a 2:30 matinee
Saturday as well as an evening
performance at 8:00. Tickets are
$2.26 each for all college and
military personnel with identifi-
cation cards and $3.00 for all
others. Th Campus Center
ticket booth will be open from
9:30 to 1 p.m. today. Tickets
may be ordered by phone or
purchased at the box office
before each show. Area high
school juniors and seniors
attending ACC Senior Day
tomorrow will be admitted for
$1.50.
