acquainted with Abilene Chris-
tian and to begin planning their

These are the result of a survey
of secretaries of state and voter
registration coordinators across
the country conducted by the
Young Democrats' national
headquarters In Washington D.
C.
This total represents 27 per
cent of the 11 W million eleglble
1821 year olds with the
presidential election coming up
In more than ten months. The
total registered at this early time
surprises many political analysts
who had predicted that young
persons would not register in
large numbers.
Results were obtained from
thirty-two states as well as a
breakdown of party registration
for fourteen.

Abilene Christian College was
awarded a graduate-studies
scholarship at a Rotary Club
luncheon oh Friday November
12. The award k a Rotary
Foundation scholarship for one
year of study in Australia at the
University of Queensland in
Brisbane. There Is no set cash
value for the award. It will pay
for his transportation room
board books fees and tuition.
Loren is now doing graduate
work at Texas A&M in aquaoul-
tore which I fish breeding. He

The Rotary Foundation pay

feeling that this wlH contribute

the critical period for registering
young voters will be the next six
months in order for these voters
to have the maximum impact on
next year's Presidential Congres-
sional and local elections.
Welner cited the 2.7 to 1
Democratic to Republican regis-
tration ratio nationwide as proof
that "the young people of-
America are ready for eonstruo
live responsible change."
