them! but feelings of sadness
come over us when we remember
that at the coming election some
of them will be compelled to take
passage in that mysterious boat

I Our Literary society still lives
and flourishes. New officers have
recently been elected: peace and
harmony prevails. Preparations
are being made for an exhibition
in the near future. The time of
which we will notify your readers

thirty boys went bathing in the
Lavaca river. We have, a good
pool here for bathing, the pool is
nearby fifteen feet deep and the
