The Herald’s genial and handsome
friend, Mr. J* B. Pearson, was married
at 12 o'clock yesterday in the Episcopal
church in Austin, to Miss Mallie Walk-
er a prominent society belle of the Capi-
tol city. Mr. Pearson is well known* to
our people, is a youDg man of sterling
integrity and fine business qualifica-
tions, and is deserVingly popular with
ail who know him. The bride is also
well known here, having visited friends
in this city in the past. She is a most
charming young lady, well worths the
love and affection < f the man of her
choice. Immediately after the ceremo-
ny the happv couple left for Galveston,

—The joyial and genial host of the
Lindenberg hotel, Mr. F. Llndenberg,
“Unser Fritz," as he is affectionately
called by .his intimate friends^ invited
this reporter to eat Thanksgiving dinner
with him last Thursday. The invita-
tion was accepted, and the dinner serv-
ed was one of the finest spreads that we
have sat down to for a long time, and to
say that the reporter did ample justice
to it but feebly expresses it. There was
a genial party gathered at the table, and
with brilliant conversation and witty
repartee, bon mots that would have
graced a Paris salon, seasoned with
sparkling wine, the lime spent at table
passed all too quickly. It was a genu-
ine ’‘feast of reason and a flow of soul,"
as some one has aptly described such an
occasion, and the health, of our host was

day afternoon at Casper Geides'gin. It
was thrown out and the fire was thought
to have been extinguished, but about
