Christianity in China
to be missionary topic
‘The Chinese people form the largest race on the earth, one fourth of
the world population More than 37 million Chinese who have not been
reached by Christianity live outside of mainland China in 29 countries
says Denise Lormand, Assemblies of God missionary-in-training to the
Chinese people in the Far East.
Miss Lormand wiU be guest speaker Wednesday, April 9, at 7:30 p m
at the First Assembly of God, 701 South Main, the Keverand llanev C
Smith, pastor, has announced
A graduate of Lamar University, Beaumont, with a B 8. in mathema-
tics and computer science, Miss Lormand has traveled to four conti-
nents and in eight countries Her evangelism trips have taken her to
Paraguay and Jamaica She has worked with Teen Challenge in Ger-
many, Singapore and Indonesia
At this special missions service, Miss Lormand will share her concern
for reaching the Chinese people with the Christian message The public
is invited to attend

the marriage of their parents, Roberts
Brown and Paul Burgess
The couple was married Saturday,
March 29, in a double ring ceremony
performed by Richard Owens at the
home of Mr. and Mrs Rodney F Daw-
son, Ingleside-on-the-Bay
Mrs. Mae Hendricks of Aransas Pass
served the bride as matron of honor
and Clyde Rhine of Wichita, Kansas
served the groom as best man.
The afternoon ceremony took place
on the front lawn, beneath an arbor
created of green decorative rope,
brought to a peak by a large wedding
bell and decorated with large, colorful
paper flowers as it draped toward the
ground Additional flowers and pink
streamers decorated the trees in the
yard
Those who gathered to wish the
couple well included her daughters,
sons-in-law, Arnold Sosa and Fred
Kloesel, and her granddaughter,
Stephanie Kloesel; and his daughter-
in-law, Mrs Aubrey (Thresa) Burgess,
his grandsons, Henry and Richard
Burgess, all of Ingleside Out of town
guests included Mrs Mary Sosa
Allen-McCulloch vows
exchanged in Portland
Margaret Louise Allen, daughter of
Mr and Mrs Alvin A Allen became
the bride of Shawn David McCulloch,
son of Wilma McCulloch of Ingleside
and Mr and Mrs. David McCulloch of
Oregon in an 8 p m ceremony on
Saturday, March 1 at the Ingleside
Church of Christ Frank Scheurich
officiated the nuptials
The Portland Church of Christ
Choir provided the wedding music
amidst the church decorations of
vi hue and yellow daisies The bride,
given in marriage by her father, wore a
white tea length dress of lace over
satin with baby's breath in her hair
She carried two calla lillies
Mrs Terry Tambunn of Ingleside
attended the bride as matron of hon-
or Sherry Adams, Lori Boulengerand
Wendy Allen attended as
bridesmaids.
The groom was attended by Todd
Smith of Ruidoso, New Mexico as best
man Groomsmen were James Fuller,
Ben Tucker and John Allen Richard
Whitney and Bryan Jones were
ushers
The mother of the bride wore a tea
length dress with pearl accessories
and white roses for a corsage The
mother of the groom chose a blue tea
length dress wit h a white rose corsage
A reception followed and was held
at the church annex The bride’s table
featured a two tiered wedding cake
with blue decorations The guests also
enjoyed punch and nuts Glenna and
Melissa Yardly were the house party
members
After a wedding trip to New Mexico,
the couple plans to make their home
in Austin The bride and groom are
both graduates of Ingleside High
School

ex-offenders in talk Saturday
“212912" is the number of a Texas Department of Corrections
inmate It is also the title of a film to be shown Saturday, the 5th, at 10
a m at the Ingleside Church of Christ. 1040 First Street The film
depicts life in a Texas prison
Following the film, students and graduates of the Christian School for
Ex-Offenders will hold a rap session The ex-offenders were converted
while in prison and were just recently released
The ex-offenders will be pointing out pitfalls to be avoided by young
people, especially drugs and alcohol
All junior high and senior high students are invited. Lunch will be
served

calling for condensed milk What a great recipe to have on hand if you
will he doing a/or of baking or cooking that calls for condensed milk

SWEETENED CONDENSED MILK
1 cup dry milk
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup boiling water
3 Tablespoons margarine
Melt margarine; combine sugar, milk and margarine, then add boiling
water Blend in blender until thick and smooth Makes 1 1/2 cups
