A CLOUD OF BLACK SMOKE hung over Thirteenth Street Wednesday as firemen
battled to control a brush fire that burned through 1,500 acres. Aransas Pass had
all its brush trucks out battling the fire and at one point was close to losing one
of them to the fire. The truck stalled out in the midst of the brush and firemen
were unable to get it started. Finally a maintainer was sent in to pull the stalled
truck out of the brush. This week Aransas Pass brush trucks were called out to
assist Ingleside with a brush fire off Sunray Road.
