Highlight of the evenini
was the showing of a film
of the Shrimporee Parade
with the Grandmother’s float
which received third place
in Div. 3.
Mrs. De La Rosa showed
the films and also showed
slides of a recent dance revue
here.
Refreshments of dips, cake,
coffee and punch were served
to eleven members and five
guests. The guests were Mrs.
Carl Davis of Electa, Mrs. W.
W. Sachtleben, Mrs. Patter-
son,* Mrs. De La Rosa and
Mrs. Rickey.

Honored At
Birthday Party
Mrs. J. P. Hughson Sr. was
complimented Monday eve-
ning with a birthday party
at the home of Mrs. Mark
Scott.
A special guest for the oc-
casion was Mrs. J. N. Capps,
formerly of Midland and now
of Houston. Mrs. Capps was
originator of The Birthday
Club.
Punch and pineapple up-
side down cake were served
to the honorce and guest and
Mrs. Robert Gambill, Mrs
Frank Buckingham, and Mrs.
Leonard Smith.
The honoree received a
beautiful gift and Mis. Scott
presented Mrs. Capps with a
gift also.

RETURN FROM EUROPE
Miss Eld a gene Naylor and
her mother, Mrs. M. E- Nay-
lor, returned Saturday from
a two-month tour of Europe.
They sailed from New York
city on June 5 on the S. S.
United States and returned
July 28 to New York by
Transworld Airlines. In En-
gland they visited in South-
ampton and London, in Eu-
rope they visited in Holland,
Belgium, Germany, Austria,
Italy, France, Switzerland
Spain and Portugal.
After returning to New
York Mrs. Naylor and Miss
Naylor spent two days at the
World’s Fair before returning
to Texas.

Is Hostess
To Presby Circle
Mrs. W. L. Buckley was
hostess to Circle II of the
Presbyterian Women of the
Church in her home Tuesday
afternoon.
Mrs. J, A. Collins, circle
chairman, opened the meet-
ing with a prayer and pre-
sided. She also presented the
Bible study on “Songs of
Zion,” and the "Let’s Talk
About” topic on Evangelism
Eight members were serv-
ed cake and coffee.

TO MEET MONDAY
A meeting of the Band
Booster Club will be held
Monday at 7:30 at Compton
Hall. All members are urged
to attend.
Plans for the home foot-
ball games will be made and
programs will be discussed.

MARRIED 50 YEARS—Mr. and Mrs. W J. Rowe will
celebrate their golden wedding anniversary Sunday
with a family barbecue at their home between Aransas
Pass and Ingleside. Mr. and Mrs. Rowe were married
Aug. 9, 1914, in Falfurrias. Mrs. Rowe was the former
Miss Edna J. Brundrett of Rockport. The couple has
lived in this area all their married life. He is a retired
boat captain. They have four children, Mrs. J. T. Barker
of Ingleside, Mrs. W. G. Warren and Arnold W Rowe
of Aransas Pass and Mrs. Cy Grett Jr., of Corpus Chris-
ti; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

sas Pass Methodist Church.

Service Guild Week End at
Mount Wesley during the

and Mrs. Curtis Barber of
Ingleside. Mrs Barber is
president of the Ingleside
Guild. The ladies went up
Friday evening and returned
