waa guest minister at In-
gleside Methodist Church
Sunday evening.
He talked on “A Meth-
odist Pilgrimage in England.”
With his talk he showed
slides recounting his trip
through England searching
out Methodist history.
The pastor, Rev. Lon Speer,
will speak this Sunday eve-
ning at 7 o’clock on the
“Christian Heritage.”
Each Sunday evening in
August, a special service is
planned. The Rev. Dick Hea-
cock, a former pastor, is slat-
ed to be one of the speakers
late this month.

Is Hostess
To Guild
Mrs. H. C. Kennedy was
hostess to the Wesleyan Ser-
vice Guild in her home Mon-
day evening.
An interesting meditation
was given by Mrs. Tommy
Attaway.
Mrs. Curtis Barber, presi-
dent, presided at the business
meeting of the month. Re-
ports were given by the of-
ficers.
Mrs. Ollie R. Stewart, as-
sisted by Mrs. Barber and
Mrs. Bill Smith, gave a re-
port on the Guild Week End
held last week end at Mount
Wesley. The three ladies were
delegates from the local
guild.
Cake, coffee and punch
were served by the hostess
to ten members and one
guest, Mrs. Percy Kennedy,
and the co-ordinator, Mrs. W
F. Hamil.

NEW POLICE CAR—Calvin Prickett of Commercial
Motor Co., presents the keys of a new 1964 Custom Ford
to Ike Herrington, Chief of Police of Ingleside. The new
police car was purchased by the City of Ingleside.
The 1965 Ingleside High
School Band Calendar cam-
paign will begin Aug. 10.
All band members are re-
quested to meet at the band
hall Monday at 9:30 a. m. for
the kick-off of sales.
The calendar each year
carries anniversaries, birth-
days and service listings for
solicitors. The group this
year hopes to have a com-
plete directory in the calen-
dar for all civic and frater-
nal organizations.
Proceeds from the calendar
sales will be used to send
students to the 1965 summer
band camp at Texas Luther-
an College.
Twenty-nine students at-
tended the camp this year
and reported it ? huge suc-
cess and are eagerly await-
ing next year’s session.
Golden Age
To Meet
Thursday
A meeting of the Golden
Age Club will be held Thurs-
day evening in the fellowship
hall of the First Methodist
Church.
Mrs. Viola Vasey presi-
dent, requests all those at-
tending to bring pictures,
.cards and articles suitable
for scrap books for the Crip-
pled Children’s Hospital.
Hostesses for the evening
will be Mrs. Jean Orme and
Mrs. Altie Lee Noltc.
Card games and dominoes
will be played for entertain-

Vacation Bible
School Slated
At Local Church
Vacation Bible School will
be held at Ingleside Assem-
bly of God Church beginning
Monday, Aug. 10, and con-
tinuing through Aug 14, Rev.
R. Bownds announced this
week.
Mrs Jack Rrvell will be
superintendent of the school
with classes held each morn-
ing from 8:30 to 11:30. The
classes will be for all ages in-
cluding nursery for ages 1 to
3 through intermediate ages
12 to 14
Commencement exercises
will be held Aug 14 at 7:30
p rn. with a display of han-
dicrafts on exhibit.

ed each morning

TPA Auxiliary
The Ladies Auxiliary of the
Texas Pharmaceutical Asso-
ciation elected and installed
new officers in a recent meet-
ing of the TPA in Fort Worth
Mrs. Ollie R. Stewart of
this city was elected auditor
of the group. Mrs. Stewart
is also serving a two year
term as president of the Wo-
men’s Organization of the Na-
tional Association of Retail
Druggists.
Other officers of the aux-
iliary of the TPA are Mrs
Clark Bonham of Fort Worth
president; Mrs. Harold D,
Eakman of San Angelo, first
vice president; Mrs. Ralph
Good Jr., of Tyler, second
vice president; Mrs. Z. T.
Robinson of Dallas, third vice
president; Mrs. Roy Wiese
Jr., of Bonham, secretary and
treasurer; Mrs. Kenneth Tie-
mann of Suatin, parliamen-
tarian; Mrs. A1 J. Schindler of
San Antonio, historian, and
Mrs Stewart, auditor.
The meeting was held in
the Texas Hotel in Fort
Worth and the officers were
honored at a tea during the
session.

Buried Tuesday
Funeral services for Mrs.
Escolastica Martinez. 81, were
held here Tuesday at Our
Lady of Assumption Catholic
Church. The Rev Charles Do-
herty officiated.
Burial was in San Ignacio
Cemetery under the direction
of Cage-Marshall Funeral
Home.
Surviving are three sons,
Ignacio Mike and Patricio, all
of Ingleside; two daughters.
Miss Manuela Martinez of In-
gleside and Mrs. Audeila
Martinez of Rockport; 16
grandchildren and 12 great-
grandchildren.

Milton Lee, son of Mr. and
Mrs. E. B. Lee, who has been
visiting in Beaumont for sev-
eral weeks with relatives, re-
turned home Monday.

Beaumont for the week end
and Milton accompanied them
