Wedding Held
Sunday Afternoon
Mrs. Mable Barker of Cor-
pus Chrlstl and Joe W. Pierce
of Ingleside were married in a
double ring ceremony Sunday
afternoon at the First Christ-
ian Church in Aransas Pass.
The Rev. Walter Easton Jr.
read the vows in a setting of
white daisies and greenery. Ap-
propriate organ music was
played by Mrs. Herbert Bohn
of Dayton, Ohio.
Attendants for the couple
were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lee
Morgan of Corpus Christi. Mrs.
Morgan is Mrs. Pierce’s daugh-
ter.
The bride wore a white suit
trimmed in Navy and a white
orchid corsage.
Following the ceremony, a
reception was held at The Ranch
House in Ingleside. The serving
tables were laid with white
linen and centered with arrang-
ements of daisies and green-
ery. Finger sandwiches, chill-
ed fruit salad, shrimp mold,
nuts and mints were served with
champagne punch, coffee and
cake. The wedding cake was
a double ring confection. Serv-
ing were Mrs. Ed Boone of
Houston, the groom’s niece,
and Miss Michelle Morgan of
Corpus Christi, Mrs. Pierce’s
granddaughter. Mrs. Burdette
Wise also assisted with the
serving.
The wedding and reception
was attended by close friends
and relatives. Among the out
of town guests were Mr. and
Mrs. Nathan Godwin, Mr. and
Mrs. Tom Westbrook, and Mr.
and Mrs. Floyd Boone, all of
Corpus Christi; Mr. and Mrs.
Johnson-Hubbell
Exchange Vows
June 22
Miss Barbara Johnson, dau-
ghter of Mrs. Delia Johnson at
Aransas Pass, and Ronnie Hub-
bell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Hubbell of Portland, exchanged
marriage vows at the First
Assembly of God Church Fri-
day, June 22. Rev. Alton Pruitt
officiated at the ceremony.
Given in marriage by her
uncle, Avie Grobe, the bride
wore a candlelight princess
style floor length gown with a
re-embroidered alecon lace
yoke and cap sleeves. She
wore a floor length veil of
candlelight tulle.
The bride’s sister, Mrs. Sue
Campbell, served as matron of
honor and Mrs. Richard Foley
was bridesmaid. Groomsmen
were Danny Hubbell, the
groom’s brother, and Richard
Foley.
The matron of honor and
bridesmaid wore blue dotted
Swiss floor length sleeveless
dresses.
Out of town guests at the
wedding and reception which
followed at the church hall were
Mr. and Mrs. Glen Coker of
Portland, Mrs. Glen Hubbell
of Bayside, Mrs. Roy Simms of
Victoria, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Key and daughter, Nancy, of
Victoria.
Following a wedding trip to
San Marcos and San Antonio,
the couple is making their home
in Aransas Pass where the
bride is employed by L. E.
Ray Insurance Company. The
groom is employed in Portland
with Portland Marine.

Frankie Heyward was queen
for the month. Glenda Brooks

Ms. Sue Stinson has had as
her house guests the past week,
Dr. Fern Childress and Harold
Childress of Enid, Oklahoma
and Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Braun
of San Antonio. Scheduled to
arrive for a three-day visit on
Saturday is Ms. Stinson’s nep-
hew and wife, Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Fern of Dallas. Her
nephew is a golf professional
at Canyon Creek Country Club
located in North Dallas.
