at the recent Grand Assem-
bly meeting held in San An-
tonio.
Miss Woollard, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Woollard,
was appointed a Junior Mem-
ber of the Grand Finance
Committee.
She will be a senior in high
school here this fall.
SANFORDS RETURN
FROM VACATION
Mr. and Mrs. N. D. Sanford
and grandchildren returned
home last week from a three
week vacation trip through
Texas, Louisiana, Mississip-
pi, Alabama, Georgia, North
Carolina, South Carolina, Vir-
ginia, Tennessee and Wash-
ington, D. C.
In Lafayette they visited
Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Compton
and with Mrs. Raymond
Cameron in New Orleans, La.
In Birmingham, Ala. they vis-
ited Mr. and Mrs. Bobby San-
ford and in Newport News,
Va. with a granddaughter,
Mrs. Neil Morris and Mr.
Morris and another grand-
daughter, Miss Sandra Sue
Sanford in Washington, D. C.
Enroute they visited many
scenic points and in Wash-
ington they were taken on
a guided tour of the city.
They visited the Arlington
Cemetery also.
On their return trip home
they came through the Blue
Ridge Mountains and the
Great Smokey Mountains.

Lemon Ribbon Cake
1 10" x 4” x 2” loaf angel
cake.
1 package vanilla pudding.
1-3/4 cup milk.
3 tablespoons lemon juice.
2 tablespoons sugar.
1 6-ounce can evaporated
milk, chilled icy cold.
1/4 cup lemon juice.
1/4 cup flaked coconut.
Slice cake lengthwise in
four even layers. Prepare
pudding according to package
directions, using only 1-3/4
cups milk. Stir in 3 table-
spoons lemon juice and the
sugar. Cool thoroughly; beat
until smooth.
Whip chilled evaporated
milk to soft peaks; add 1/4
cup lemon juice and beat un-
til soft peaks form; fold into
pudding. Spread half the pud-
ding mixture between cake
layers. Frost top and sides
with remaining pudding.
Sprinkle top with coconut.
Chill well in refrigerator.

16 ice circles (or 12 tee
cubes.)
1 lime, thinly sliced.
Empty unthawed grape
juice, orange juice, and lem-
onade inty a gallon pun.’h
bowl. Add water and stir vig-
orously until well blended.
Add ice circles and let stand
10 to 15 minutes, stirring oc-
casionally Float lime slices
in punch, just before serving.
Makes 15 half-cup servings.
