Hanna-Clemons
Wedding Held
In Kingsville
Miss Marlena Hanna and
Stanley Clemons were married
Friday evening in Kingsville in
the home of Mr. and Mrs Eddie
Turcotte.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr and Mrs C A. Hanna of
Aransas Pass and the groom is
the son of Mrs. Laverne
Clemons, also of this city and
the late Elmer Clemons
Judge Ray of Riviera read the
wedding vows.
The bride wore a formal
length gown of baby blue
organza styled with long full
sheer sleeves, fitted bodice and
full skirt White cuffs and collar
trimmed in lace accented the
sleeves and neckline. The
bouffant skirt was also border-
ed with white lacfe. She carried
a bouquet of white rosebuds and
white carnations Her head-
piece was a band of blue ribbon
studded with pearls
Miss Cindy Calvert was the
bride's attendant and Johnny
Shoemaker served the groom as
best man.
Cake and punch were served
following the ceremony.
Following a wedding trip to
Brownsville and Mexico, the
couple is at home in Kingsville
Both the bride and groom are
graduates of Aransas Pass High
School
Attending the ceremony were
Mrs Laverne Clemons. Miss
Nancy Gemons and Randy
Clemons, all of Aransas Pass.
GRANDMOTHERS CLUB
A meeting of Aransas Pass
Grandmothers Club will be held
Friday, October 7 in the home of
Mrs. T.M. Gunn, 234 S. 10th at
2:30 p.m.
Installation of the new
officers of Order of Rainbow
For Girfs was held Saturday
night in an open meeting at the
Masonic Hall on West Wheeler
Avenue.
Miss Lynda Wyatt, grand-
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Ulcar, was installed as worthy
advisor.
The Bible and emblems were
presented by Kevin Jones and
Coral Alloway. Lee La barge
gave the invocation and
benediction.
Installing officers were Mrs
Marilyn Jones, Miss Ruby
Harris, Miss Debbie Alloway,
Miss Donna Duty, Miss Debbie
Arnold and Mrs. Lumley
Vinzetta
The hall was decorated in the
worthy advisor’s chosen colors
of blue and green, with a cross
accenting the East.
Other officers installed were
Tina Wray, worthy associate
advisor; Susie Stansberry,
Charity; Donna Sparks, Hope;
Cindy Stewart, Faith; Venus
Herndon, chaplain; Cindy
Jones, drill leader; Linda
Arnold confidential observer
and Kathy Stirneman, musi-
cian.
Mrs Don Fowler was
mistress of ceremonies and
Mrs Roy Tyler is mother
advisor. The merit awards
were presented by Mrs.
Florence Stewart and Miss
Ruby Harris, retiring worthy
advisor, presented the pins of
perfection.
Following the installation, a
special program was presented
by Pam Yardley and Mrs.
Harry Alloway.
Refreshments were served in
the dining room at the close of
the evening The serving table
was laid with blue net over
taffeta and centered with a blue
arrangement. Cake and punch
were served to approximately
seventy-five members and
guests.

Mrs. Ricky McNiel was guest
of honor at a baby shower,
Thursday night Sept. 20. The
shower was held at the C.P. k L
Conference Room at 201 W.
Wilson Hostesses were Mrs.
F.G. Bregg, Mrs. Frank Fogg,
Mrs George Corbett, Mrs. Don
Vance, and Miss Vicki Gregg.
The refreshment table was
decorated with a stork for the
centerpiece. The cake was also
decorated with a miniature
stork with yellow and green
color scheme. The gift table
was covered with a white hand
crocheted table cloth and the
color scheme was carried out
with a centerpiece of yellow
carnations accented with green
ribbon.
A wide variety of gifts were
received. Cake, punch, nuts
and mints were served to
approximately thirty guests
The hostesses presented the
honoree with a corsage of
yellow carnations and an infant
car seat.

Garden Club met Thursday in
the Rattan Room at Little Bob s
with the new president. Mrs
Henry Neumann, presiding
Guests included Mrs. D.L.W.
Carter of Corpus Christi,
District VII Director, and Mrs
VR Crofford, Mrs. R.F,
Calvert. Mrs. J.H. Northam and
Mrs. Miller of Ingleside
Mrs Cecil Walker presented
the program “Soil of this Area",
Plans for the Spring Conven-
tion to be held here Feb. 27-28
were also discussed.
Sewing: Class
Makes Progress
Americanism Day will be
observed by Aransas Pass
Woman's Gub at the luncheon
meeting on October 9. Ronald
Yeager, city attorney, will
address the group on "Amazing
America". The devotional will
be brought by Mrs. Robert
Upton.
Serving as hostess will be
Mrs Gary Boehnke, Mrs.
Jimmie Peer and Mrs. Marvin
Marek. Yearbooks will be
distributed by Mrs Albert
Holguin, program chairman.
Nine new members will be
introduced and welcomed into
the club.
Methodist Women
Begin Study
The United Methodist Women
met Tuesday morning in the
Fellowship Hall of the church
for its regular business meeting
and the first session on a study
on India
Mrs John Loftin, president,
presided over the business
session
Plans were begun for the
annual Mexican Supper to be
held at Kieberger Cafeteria on
Nov 12.
Mrs. Loftin directed the
discussion on problems of India
Hostesses were Mrs Adele
White and Mrs. J.D. lisle.
Sixteen were in attendance.
Mrs. Sam McCleese *was
introduced as a new member
The next session will be held
Oct. 9 with the Rev. Tom
McClung, pastor of the United
Methodist Church of Rockport
as guest speaker.
Modern Beauty Salon
welcomes back
Mrs. Felix Dorethy was
complimented with a pink and
blue shower Saturday afternoon
in the home of Mrs. M L. Rolls
in Oak Park.
Hostesses were Miss Karen
Hilbrich, Mrs. Joe Lee, Mrs.
H.D. Bonorden, Mrs. Gay
Walker and Mrs. Rolls.
The honoree, the former Miss
Annette Wood, was presented
with a corsage from the
hostesses and many lovely gifts
from the guests.
The serving table was laid
with an antique white lace cloth
and centered with a pink and
blue floral arrangement in a
ceramic cradle surrounded by
pink and blue flocks with a
miniature baby perched atop.
Petits fours decorated with
tiny bootees and storks were
served with lime sherbert
punch
Assisting the hostesses with
entertainment and serving were
Mrs. Rolls’ granddaughters,
Holly, Vicki and Susan Reid.
Holly served the punch, Vicki
the cake and Susan registered
the twenty-two guests attend-
ing.
Perhaps there is success for
you if you've always wanted to
sew. Mrs. La Dot Branch,
instructor, reports that every
member of the Adult Sewing
Class sewed in a zipper at last
week's session. The favorite
comment seemed to be “Just
wait until I show this to —.”
Mrs. Branch says that the
next session should "shape up"
into something just as interest-
ing. Topic is; Shapings for
Sewing Time: 7 P.M to 8:30

Clothing Room at the High
