Mailing deadlines for Christ-
mas mail and packages going
overseas are rapidly approach-
ing with only 47 days before
Christmas, reminds Mrs.
Dorothy Mercer. Ingleside
postmaster.
November 10 is the deadline
set by the Postal Service for
mailing Surface and Space
Available (SAM > to members of
the armed forces in South and
Central America, the Congo,
and Liberia Also, Surface Mail
to armed forces personnel in
their 1974 experience tax rates
reduced
Sam Lane, who represents
employers on the three-man
Texas Employment Commis-
sion. explained that the reduc-
tion is applicable because of a
statute which provides for a
reduction in experience tax
rates for 1974 when the amount
in the trust fund on October 1,
19711 was in excess of $310
million."

Taiwan. Thailand, Vietnam,
Belguim, Denmark. England.
Finland. France, Germany.
Greece, Italy, Norway, Nether-
lands. Portugal, and Spain
Surface Mail and Space
Available Mail to armed
personnel in Canada. Green-
land. Labrador, Newfoundland,
and the Azores should be mailed
by November 24
November 27 is the deadline
to mail Parcel Air Lift (PAL) to
members of the armed forces in
Belguim. Denmark, England.
Finland, France, Germany.
Greece, Italy, Norway, Nether-
land. Portugal, Spain, Ant-
artica. Australia, Burma, Indo-
nesia. Japan, Korea, New
Zealand. Okinawa, Philippines,
Taiwan, Thailand, and Viet-
nam.
Parcel Air Lift (PAL) mail to
members of the armed forces in
Canada, Greenland, Labrador,
Newfoundland, and the Azores,
as well as all Surface Parcels to
Alaska and Hawaii should be
mailed by November 30.
Mrs. Mercer said these
deadlines should be observed by
postal patrons in order to assure
that their Christmas packages
and cards reach their destina-
tion in time for Christmas.
The postmaster said Decem-
ber deadlines will be announced
