Mexico, performed the cere-
mony before an arch covered
with white doves and a satin
bow in shades of pink.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a gown
of mira mist organza with a
Chantilly lace overlay designed
with a Sabrina neckline, molded
bodice and scalloped waistline.
The softly gathered skirt fell
to a chapel length train. Her
fingertip-length veil of illusion,
edged with a scalloped Chan-
tilly lace, was attached to a
lace covered Juliet cap edged
with seed pearls.
The bridal bouquet was a
cascade of light and dark pink
carnations and baby’s breath
accented with white satin
streamers tied in love knots.
For good luck, the bride wore
pennies in her shoes minted
in the year of her birth and the
bridegroom’s birth. Something
new was her gown, borrowed
was pearl earrings belonging
to her sister-in-law, Ginger

Patti Stephens, pianist, pre-
sented nuptial music and ac-
companied Bettye Taylor solo-
ist, as she sang "The Hands
of Time’’ and "The Wedding
Prayer.’’
Maid of honor was Miss Diane
Staggs. Miss Cheryle McCance,
sister of the bridegroom, was
bridesmaid and Mrs. Larry
Freeze, sister-in-law of the
bride was bridesmatron. They
wore gowns fashioned with an
empire waistline. One was of
dark pink and the others were
of light pink. Each carried
a nosegay of light and dark
pink carnations and wore pink
floppy hats. Dion Hancock was
flower girl. She was dressed
in a gown identical to the at-
tendants and carried a white
lace basket of pink carnations.
Greg Ball of Amarillo was
best man. Groomsmen were
Jeff Falkenbury, and Russell
Shaffer. Serving as candle-
lighters and ushers were Max
Littlefield, and Gary Ball. Billy
Dulin was ringbearer.
Following the ceremony, a
reception was held In the Hos-
pitality Room of Yoakum Coun-
ty State Bank. The bride’s
table was covered with a pink
cloth with a white lace over-
lay. A silver punch bowl and
silver appointments were used.
Linda Shaffer, Joni Hancock,
Karen Smith, Sharon Peevy and
Kathie Dorethy were members
of the houseparty.
Lisa Freeze, sister of the
bride, registered guests.
The bride's mother wore
a formal gown of turquoise
knit fashioned with long sheer
sleeves and wore white acces-
sories. Mother of the bride-
groom was attired in a sleeve-
less pink gown and wore white
accessories. Each wore a cor-
sage of pink carnations.
For a wedding trip to Rul-
doso, New Mexico, the bride
chose a navy blue and white
pant suit and wore white ac-
cessories. The couple will
make their home in Lubbock.
The new Mrs. McCance is a
1973 graduate of Denver City
High School, her husband is a
1972 graduate of DCHS and is
attending Texas Tech Univer-
sity and Is employed by LAV
Builders In Lubbock.
Out of town guests were the
bride’s grandparents; Mrs.
Edith Keeny of Paducah, Ken-
tucky, aunt of the bridegroom;
Mr. and Mrs. Max Bunting of
Waco, aunt of the bridegroom;
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Shaffer
and LaShelle of Lubbock,sister
of the bridegroom; Ted Chase
of Denton; Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Ball and daughters of Amarillo;
Mr. and Mrs. Travis Carpenter
of Lubbock; Mr. and Mrs. Ross
Gibson and Danice of Andrews;
and Mrs. Kenneth Broad and
Dallas of Portales, New Mexico.
A Baby Boy
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Weaver
of Ingleside announce the birth
of a son, Kenneth Bradley. He
was born August 24 and weighed
seven pounds, three and 1/2
ounces.
The maternal grandparents
are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Van
Leeuwen of Ingleside and the
paternal grandparents are Mr.
and Mrs. Ancel Brundrett of
Port Aransas.
VISITING HERE
Mr. and Mrs. George Bryant
of Fort Worth, visited with the
L. T. Wyningers over the week-
end. The men enjoyed fishing.

the 1973-74 year of the Ladies
Golf Association, Live Oak
Country Club, will be held at
7 p.m. Tuesday, September 4,
it was announced today. All
members are urged to attend
the gathering at the clubhouse.
Leslie Huddleston, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Sam Huddleston, A-
ransas Pass, will be returning
to Carolina Community College
near Jacksonville, N. C., after
the Labor Day weekend. A
junior student, he has been
visiting his parents here this
summer. He is a 1968 graduate
of Aransas Pass High School
and served In the U. S. Marine
Corps before entering college.

Connie Gayle Dunk, bride e-
lect of Alvin E. King, Jr. was
honored with a miscellaneous
shower Saturday, August 25,
at the Faith Lutheran Church
Annex.
The bride-elect’s corsage
was of yellow carnations en-
circled with avocado tulle and
tied with avocado ribbon. The
bride’s mother Mrs. Leonard
Dunk was presented a similar
corsage of white-carnations.
All the hostesses were given
white carnation corsages, a gift
from the bride-to-be.
The guests were registered
by Mrs. Jo Ann Rucker. A
black antique table covered with
yellow linen and net held the
bride’s book, yellow plume pen
and a white milk glass bud vase
with a yellow carnation.
The gift tables were covered
with white lace tableclothesand
held a centerpiece of a bride
with white wedding bells en-
circled in yellow net. The
tables held a place setting of
the bride’s chosen pattern of
China, Corning Ware.wearever
cookware and many other gifts.
Mrs. Myra Kline of Portland
registered the gifts.
The refreshment table was
covered In yellow with a yellow
net skirt holding white minia-
ture wedding bells and white
ribbon, and held an arrangement
of yellow and orange mums,
bronze daisy mums, and green
foliage in a green glass con-
tainer flanked by sterling can-
dleholders with yellow tapers.
The white cake was topped with
yellow roses and white sugar
wedding bells. Punch, mints,
and nuts were served from cry-
stal and silver appointments.
Hostesses for the occasion
were Mrs. Gerald Cole, Mrs.
Henry Irons, Mrs. Brian Wil-
cox, Mrs. Leon Hofmuster,
Mrs. Ronnie Rucker, Mrs. Ver-
non Jarvis, Mrs. J. D. Thomas,
